The Kensington LiquidAUX Deluxe delivers pure sound through your vehicle's stereo system while your iPhone and iPod charges. Compact yet powerful, the car kit provides a secure location for your device to charge while giving you full access to your music files through a wireless remote control. | The LiquidAUX Deluxe provides wireless remote control of your music files, while keeping the iPhone or iPod securely in view. | The LiquidAUX Deluxe is tailor-made for the iPhone (1G and 3G); the iPod nano (1st, 2nd, and 3rd generation); all iPod generations (1st through 6th); and the iPod touch. | Installs Instantly Simply plug your iPhone or iPod into the car kit using a 3.5-mm audio cable, and then insert the kit into your in-dash auxiliary port. Within seconds, digital-quality sound will be pumping through your car's audio system. Fingertip Control The steering wheel-mounted remote control is designed to be mounted with the controls on the interior of your steering wheel. he remote conveniently allows you to play, pause, and skip music files with just your thumb, allowing you to keep your hands on the wheel. Convenience The dock adjusts to fit the iPhone and most iPod models without removing them from the case, and a smart audio sensor controls the kit's power automatically. Kensington's LiquidAUX Deluxe Auxiliary Car Kit is compatible with the iPhone (1G and 3G); iPod nano (1st, 2nd, and 3rd generation); all iPod generations (1st through 6th); and iPod touch. Note: An auxiliary port in your car is required for the LiquidAUX Deluxe. Support Backed by Kensington's two-year warranty, the LiquidAUX also comes with free technical support. Important Note: Sound Effects When using an auxiliary device in the car, you might hear a slight buzzing sound, engine noise, or high-pitched whine. That is because your car model has a grounding issue between the audio system and the power socket, which causes a whining or buzzing sound when you drive. This sound is not caused by your Kensington product; however, Kensington has an easy solution. Simply purchase an automotive ground loop isolator for your car that is compatible with a 3.5-mm jack. This simple tool will enable you to use your music in a safe, hands-free environment. What's in the Box Kensington LiquidAUX Deluxe Auxiliary Car Kit, remote control, and 4-foot audio extension cable.

Great concept, lousy implementation January 8, 2009 This is a great concept - put the iPhone in it's holder, it gets a charge, you get music through the car stereo, and a handy remote control, all in one bundle. I actually pre-ordered one after the 2008 Mac Expo where they were introduced. It took so long I eventually let Amazon cancel the order, and bought one nearly a year later for a road trip.
Unlike the concept, the implementation seems to be miserable. The iPhone holder and cigarette lighter plug are all one unit, which means the iPhone has to be close to the lighter, which makes it hard to use the iPhone from the drivers seat in many cars. Worse yet, the entire unit seems just a bit flimsy and unreliable. Every bounce or bump - including most screen or home key taps - caused the iPhone to think it had been disconnected and quit playing. It seems like I spent more time trying to get it connected again after such a failure than I did actually listening to it, so I eventually returned it and bought the version of this without the holder: Kensington LiquidAUX Auxiliary Car Kit with Remote for iPod; iPhone 1G, 3G. This doesn't have those problems.
Sort of works, but I returned it. December 8, 2008 Audio quality was good, but I returned the product for two reasons.
1. The build quality of the clamp was not very good. As was mentioned in another review the clamp can get out of register and not clamp the phone properly. I fixed it, but I would much rather have a mount meant for the iPhone. Not a clamp that tries to fit everything. The build quality did not give me confidence it would last very long.
2. On my 2007 Dodge Magnum the 12v dash area accessory jack is in the ashtray. The problem is the fixed audio out cable on the LiquidAUX hits the ashtray which will eventually ruin it. I wish it was located on the side instead of the bottom of the LiquidAUX lighter plug.
Has flaws, buy works well December 5, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Neat idea, but not perfect.
The remote died in 2 months, and even when it did work, it only worked sometimes. This is very frustrating. Not knowing if the remote works actually makes using it LESS safe than using the iPhone or ipod controls directly.
When you put an iPhone in there, it does get top heavy, and it will fall over when you make turns. I have to rest mine against a vent to keep it upright. I wish there was a collar I could put around the cigarette adapter to make it thicker and perhaps hold the unit in place better... but there isn't.
It also gets very annoying when you want to turn the iPhone sideways. It's a bit too hard to turn in the unit, and you will end up moving the whole thing just to rotate the screen.
Furthermore, the "This accessory is not supported" warning still comes up on the iPhone. But honestly, I've never used a dock that does not display this warning.
The aux sound works great though, and the unit charges the 3G iphone perfectly. This in combination with a bluetooth headset makes for a great hands free experience.
All that said, I couldn't live without a unit such as this... and I can't seem to find a better one. I just wish all the features actually worked!
Flimsy November 30, 2008 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
Very loose in socket. Falls over and drops phone in turns. Power socket contacts also very loose. Very irritating. Bendable arm too short to be functional. Remote died in 2mo. Save your $$.
PERFECT for ipod Touch!! November 19, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
As iPod Touch users know, they are GREAT but difficult to use while driving a car.
This changes EVERYTHING
The remote works great, the ipod is securely fastened, it gets charged, it plays through the port, AMAZING!
I wasn't sure whether i should purchase because of mixed reviews, but now I don't know how I ever drove without it!
