The Click Wheel is fully covered by a PATENTED thin membrane, which remains completely functional through the case. The external headphone jack is compatible with any style headphones, as long as they have a standard mini stereo plug (1/8"). This case has been waterproof tested to 3 feet (1 meter). You must remove your device from the case to sync/charge your iPod. This case fits the iPod Classic ONLY (will not fit the 30, 60 or 80GB iPod Video).

No Otter box is better! November 25, 2008
The Otterbox is virtualy indestructable. MY 80gb I Pod fits very snug, and I am not worried for a second about it after the Otter Box is shut.
The Otter box is a bit larger than one might imagine, and it doesnt fully open for real "ease" of getting your I POd in or out, however, I didnt mind this in that my Pod and I go into some heavy terrain, and I finaly dont need to think a thing about how it is protected. If you are a "more is better" type person, then you will love this Box. If you want to stay sleek and fashionable, then this may not be for you. I have looked many places for cases af all types, this is the first one that does the job it was created for.

I am what my friends and family would politely call 'accident-prone'.(Or 'Queen of Destructo ' when they think I'm out of earshot!)
If I can find a way to trip,clock,cut,bump or fall over any myriad of ways,I'll do it.You name it,I've done it to myself or to my belongings.I'd keep blaming it on the fact that I've got bad eyesight,except I've recently gotten glasses.Oh well.
When I splashed out & bought an Ipod Classic with some vouchers at Christmas last year,I KNEW it wasn't a case of 'IF' I dropped the damn thing-it was only a matter of 'WHEN'.
In fact,the death of my gorgeous little Chinese knock-off mp3 player(or 'Chipod' as they're called in the trade)when I fell down a pothole the previous year was still fresh in my mind and I didn't want a repeat performance.
Googling around I found various reviews of different cases,& while several looked promising,The Otterbox seemed to rate consistently highest in terms of shock-proof & even waterproof protection.It even came with a lifetime guarantee(for the box itself,not the Ipod).
Heck,one video review even featured a bloke chucking it in the pool!
So,impressed but taking the 'if something seems to be too good,it probably is' philosophy to heart,I bit the bullet and purchased one.
Well,since then,I have:
-dropped my Ipod on concrete
-slipped on a wet day & dropped it on a muddy footpath
-spilt coke all over it
-knocked it off the bed
-got it wet in a sudden rain shower
-had my three-year old niece(destructo princess-in-training)chuck it across the room.
.All whilst being snugly encased in the Otterbox.
Whilst the case itself has a few chips,scratches and dents from its misadventures,there is NOT A MARK on my ipod.NOT ONE DROP of water penetrated its shell.It has remained COMPLETELY UNDAMAGED.Abso-bloody-lutely amazing.
Unlike other cases,the WHOLE of your ipod is covered,including the screen and clickwheel.It also has thick rubber siding,and snaps firmly shut to keep put all moisture.
Certainly,at the time I bought it,it wasn't cheap($AU80),but having paid over $AU300 for my Ipod Classic,believe me,it has paid for itself many times over.
If you have an Ipod and can't easily afford a replacement,especially if you're on the clumsy side,this is an essential purchase.If your music & podcasts are an integral part of your day,you'll spend more time enjoying them & less time obsessing about having a mishap that will turn your expensive digital player into little more than a metal bookmark.

Best ipod protection I have EVER seen!! October 14, 2008
I used this with my Ipod when I went 4 wheel riding in Utah. I wore it on the strap of my camelbak, so it was in front where it was exposed to fine dust, rain, sleet and even snow. It worked beautifully!! Nothing got inside to my ipod. It was protected the best I have ever seen!! I am sold!! I will not ride without it ever again!! It is the BEST!!
A Great Case September 4, 2008
The Otterbox 913-01.4 iPod Classic Armor Case works very well with my 80g iPod Classic. It fits well, the controls are accessible (though a bit cumbersome) and the case really is water resistant at depths less than three feet. Overall, this is a nice accessory if you use your iPod in wet, dirty or dusty environments. One caveat, consider using a partner other than ANT -- I had trouble with them regarding this item, but good old Amazon put things right with their A - Z guarantee. Save yourself the hassle.
Great case August 25, 2008
Just received this case in today's mail. I have not actually used in the swimming pool yet - won't be able to until tomorrow - but I can say the case did GREAT in my "kitchen sink" test. I used cotton balls as filler for the case, sealed it up, and put it in a sinkful of water which I then weighted down with a pot lid. I left it there for about 1/2 hour and came back, opened up the case, and the cotton balls were as dry as when I put them in. Love it, love it! Now when I'm swimming my laps I can listen to all my tunes and create my own little world.
