1 out of 5 stars Not fully compatible on a Mac   November 5, 2008
While this product probably works quite well on a Windows system It did NOT work properly on my Mac running OS X 10.5.5.
A reply from IOGEAR Tech Support said that it "will still work with MAC computers but with limited profiles supported." Unfortunately it was incompatible enough that some of the options were greyed out in the Bluetooth Preferences window.

4 out of 5 stars Great Product, but no need   September 8, 2008

The product worked great on my laptop and connected to my cell phone. I unfortunately returned it because come to find out, I have no real need for it. It was only to make my printer wireless, but i would need to buy another adapter for my laptop to see the bluetooth printer. No thanks!

I was looking for a USB bluetooth accessory for my desktop, and needed one that was compatible with Windows Vista Home Edition 64-BIT. This one is (many aren't). It works great, though nowhere near the advertised range.

5 out of 5 stars really easy installment   July 29, 2008

5 out of 5 stars Don't use the included driver   June 30, 2008

Have had this product for about a year now, and it has worked flawlessly with my BB Pearl 8100, Plantronics Voyager 510, and Samsung P2 MP3 player. However...I DID NOT use the included driver and software, as they did not work with anything very well. And Windows XP does not have a built-in driver for this device...except that it does, but doesn't know it. This device has a Broadcom chipset (BCM2045) in it, and XP has a builtin Broadcom driver (BCM2033) which are the same file; however, XP doesn't match the two up. So you have to edit the bluetooth driver .ini file manually to make it work. Needless to say it is somewhat involved, so to find out how to make it work, just google search broadcom 2045 XP setup and you should find it. This will enable XP"s bluetooth stack, which works very well. Oh, and while I have not tested range, it is nestled inside my computer, surrounded by cordless phones, routers, and other electronics, and can still communicate through several walls to my devices on the other side of the house. Hope this helps. Thanks.
