Be Careful 12mbps Limit! September 16, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Irritating to find that there was an asterisk on the box that says
"*Limited to 12Mbps"
Try running a modern web cam like that, especially a Logitech. It fails miserably... this didn't work as advertised, and unfortunately, I have to ship 7 of these back..
Works as advertised June 14, 2008 I bought this to extend the length of my un-powered Logitech Quickcam Pro 4000 - Web camera - color - USB to put in the attic so I can use it as a security camera out to my parking area.
It took about 30 seconds for the cam to be recognized by the i-Catcher webcam software ([...]) and from then on it has been clicking pics beyond the 16' USB limit with no problems.
There was an issue when Windows decided to do its Update and boot my PC, it told me I was using too much bandwidth on that USB port, I suspect it is because I have two of those WebCams on the same port so I moved the one with the 50' CAT6 cable to a separate port.
Worked great June 2, 2008 I used this to get a wireless keyboard/mouse receiver to the TV location. I had a CAT5 from the PC to the TV, so now I have a USB port behind the TV.
Does what it says April 13, 2008 Good intentions for what it does. Works the way its suppose to. Great way to lengthen the distance for USB devices. Had some issues with using it on a usb cable modem, kept loosing and getting the connection. pverall a great idea and great product to have.
Multi-Room Guitar Hero Possible December 31, 2007 I'm using this to extend the USB ports on my Xbox 360 from my basement to my den over Cat6. Works great!
