Too Much Work January 8, 2009 Two Blackberry Pearl Cell Phones used. The first day all went well with the product. Day 2 came and we had manually add the phones to the device. The product worked great as long as we had the patience to manually add them. I tried everyway that I know to get the bluetooth to connect automatically but failed. We put up with it for about 3 weeks.
Same as other reviews base drops from cell, cannot answer all calls January 4, 2009 I bought this hoping it would give me landline capabilities in the house with my cell phone. Unfortunately I've only had it three days and it's been very frustrating. The phone rings (from cell), I pick up the Panasonic handset and nothing. When I finally get the person, after calling them back, they say it stopped ringing but they couldn't hear anything, no connection. This doesn't happen all the time but about 60% of the time. Sometimes when placing a call it will switch to the cell and the handset is dead. I have the newer KX-TH1212B and it still has issues. I'm giving it one more day, but I'm ready to pack it up and return it. Great idea, but very frustrating!
HORRIBLE!!! December 31, 2008 SAVE YOUR MONEY!!! This is the WORST phone I've ever bought. Panasonic has already replaced it once, yet problems persist. I'm using this phone with my iPhone and no landline. In short, the cordless handsets repeatedly lose connection to the base and drop calls. Furthermore, while I've never had a problem placing a call from one of the handsets, when I answer an incoming call, the Panasonic drops the call about 50% of the time. I used to be a big fan of Panasonic phones. I think this is the last one I'll ever buy. Amazon is doing a GREAT DISSERVICE to customers by even carrying something this awful!
Great features, solid performance December 28, 2008 I've been using the bluetooth-enabled Panasonic for a month now. The system is a solid performer. Audio quality is very good. The features are useful. I love the shared address book -- enter name and phone # once and it's available from all handsets. Talking caller ID works well.
Of course the key feature is bluetooth integration with cell phones. This is working very well. We paired my wife's LG and my Blackberry 8830 without any problems. When we get home, phones re-pair automatically. It's great to not have to run looking for your cell when someone calls -- instead just pick up one of the handsets.
This KX-TH1212B System is an Answer to a Prayer December 28, 2008 This Panasonic KX-TH1212B works very well. I bought the two-handset system and added two more handsets. I have experienced very good signal strength as I have made phone calls from the street in front of my house (about 80 feet through the walls). I have two Motorola Z6tv cell phones with no landline. In the past, I have always purchased stronger batteries for my wireless phones and this one is no exception. Before I put this system in service, I replaced the AAA 650 ma hour batteries with 1000 mah Duracell Rechargeables, for extended talk time. My cell phone is placed approximately 13 feet form the Base Unit and in an area of the house with good coverage (Verizon CDMA). Don't try walking with your cell phone on your side or in your purse. My AC wall socket has very good voltage (121 Volts, THANK YOU PG&E). This may be why I have such a strong signal. I am so happy with this system that I have just ordered two more handsets. Be aware that two different handset are available for this system ( KX-TGA930T and KX-TGA935B). My wish list for this link-to-cell is an answering system, fast way to transfer phone numbers from the cell to the handsets and the illumination of every function key.
