Quality furniture with some annoyances October 10, 2008
The Powell media console that I bought is a beautiful piece of furniture. It has a heft and solidness you'd expect from good furniture. That said, there were some annoyances. The web site says, "some assembly required". Be advised that complete assembly is required. I thought all I would have to do was put the doors on and the knobs. Instead it took me and another guy the better part of a day to assemble. Also, some of the pre-drilled holes for the fasteners were slightly off. The fasteners themselves are an odd lot that I've never seen before. Now that it's finished I'm mostly satified but I'm not sure I'd want to go through that again.
