A bit complex to setup but generally all around OK May 11, 2008 It takes careful reading to setup the clock radio correctly and I tend to forget a required detail after a year. The numerous buttons are hard to press in the dark.
The CD plays well and I did plug in a 3 speaker PC system for the additional sub woofer capacity.
Philips AJ3950 CD Stereo Clock Radio February 17, 2008 Philips AJ3950 CD Stereo Clock Radio is a quality product and has a very load alarm for those of you that are sound sleepers it is quiet and the backlit clock is a very nice feature for night viewing it has been very reliable this clock I shall purchase this clock brnad again in the future have had all the other brands which have failed me in a few short years this one is going beyond that; great quality product
Useless!! February 6, 2008 Twenty buttons, folks. Plus a dial on the side. You basically have to memorize the function of twenty tiny , poorly named and poorly marked buttons and then be able to fumble your way through complicated sequences in the dark morning or sleepy bedtime.
Three buttons just to set the alarm time. then another to chose what noise you'll wake up to. This same button also doubles as the button to disable the alarm if you take a day off and want to sleep in. Then in the morning, you have the snooze button, which is the only button larger than an M&M. Then, when you're done snoozing, you have to fumble around in the dark trying to find the button that shuts it off til the next morning. But if you want to turn it all the way off so it doesn't go off again the next morning, you have to find still another button.
This alarm might work well if you have a set schedule that never varies and you can set it up and get used to it. But if you ever have to get up early for one day or take a day off or have an irregular schedule, it's like programming the space shuttle in the dark.
I really like this radio February 3, 2008 I actually bought 2 of these at the same time about a year and 1/2 ago. (1 for me and 1 for a gift) We both love the product. My favorite featurs: headphone jack, weekend sleeper, ability to set 2 awake times (as I usually don't have to be at work as early as my husband) and the fact the alarm quietly wakes me up. I haven't had to be 'scared' awake since I've gotten this. The only small dis-like I have is it doesn't seem to have a battery backup for when the power is out more than 3 minutes. We have had times when the power was out longer than this and I have to reset everything but that's a very 'minor' dislike. My husband uses his cell phone as a back up so there's a very easy 'work around" for me.
Great alarm clock, if a little confusing... January 13, 2008 Great little clock! It's a little confusing to enable/disable the alarm and still keep the alarm you've set- radio/buzzer/CD. But still great.
