I initially purchased this clock radio for myself and fell in love with it. The sound machine has 6 different sounds and I use it every night to help me fall asleep. The radio works well - but the best is the time projection onto the ceiling. The numbers are large enough to be seen without my glasses and the light is a soft blue so it won't be so bright as to keep you awake.

My son fell in love with it too, so got him one for Christmas. Then got one for my parents and bought another for a coworker as a thank you gift. This definitely makes a unique gift without breaking your budget. There are fancier ones out there, but this basic model is all anyone would need.

Good for Purpose July 9, 2008
I bought this over a year ago (not through Amazon) and have had no problems with it. We use it as a sound filter in our kids' room and they like seeing the time reflected on the ceiling above them at night. Granted, the time is easily changed by tiny little fingers, but that's not a big issue for us. It has served its purpose well!

The projection feature got blurry within a couple weeks and couldn't be adjusted. The sounds are very tinny and repetitive, my old sound machine had more realistic rain, thunder sounds. Last night the clock changed 4 hours ahead for no reason. It's going back to Target.
