Love it, but......... November 29, 2008 I got one, it is a bit confusing to set up and use. I keep the instruction manual handy.
I love the sleep timer on the nature sounds. No matter how not tired I am, I am sound asleep by the end of the time and it's morning. The sounds on this clock is a much better quality then another brand I got at mall store.
If this one fails me, I'll probably purchase another Timex, maybe with better reviews. Looks like this one is being phased out.
Low Quality Switches November 15, 2008 Disappointed in this product. The four push-button switches on top of the unit which are used to adjust time, etc do not make contact with the electronic buttons beneath them. In order to use I had to pop off the plastic knobs and make direct contact with the electronic switches. I had to consult the manual for nearly every adjustment, since the controls don't seem intuitive to me. Also, I can't find anywhere in the manual how to turn off the alarm. Therefore, since I use this primarily as a radio, I have to turn the volumn to zero before I turn the radio off. Lastly, the auto time set doesn't work, so when going off DST, I had to pop the plastic knobs again and set manually. Consequently, I am about throw this unit away and replace it with something more user-friendly.
Outstanding functionality and look October 22, 2008 Yes, you do need to wrap yourself up with the manual for around half an hour if you want to learn all the functions. This will be very frustrating if you are used to NOT having to do this. However the reward is that you get an outstanding clock radio - excellent functionality, nice look and sound. I own four of these Timex pieces now (not all exactly the same model) and consider them a real find - especially for the price. Others have documented the list of features, such as weekday versus weekend alarm settings. I own the 308s by the way which has dual alarms.
A clock with glitches June 23, 2008 Had this alarm clock for about a year. I have noticed that it changes your pre-set alarm station to a new station randomly. For example, set it to wake on station 96.3 and the next morning it will wake to 95.5. If you are unlucky it will switch to static. I could deal with retuning the clock back to the old station, but now that the buttons are starting to stick (flimsy design) I am getting rid of it.
Do not buy... June 23, 2008 Unless you enjoy playing with junk, that is. The one-star reviews are completely accurate...setting the time/alarm is disgusting, and takes forever for the numbers to finally switch faster; the entire interface is completely unintuitive; the only good part about the nature sounds is the ability to lower their volumes; horrible positioning of the snooze bar (sometimes I turn off the alarm instead of snoozing...bad...); orange screen light is too bright on darkest setting. Just buy something else.
