Awsome bass, abscent mid-tones, poor FM reception October 10, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This unit stands out of the crowd of all other boom boxes I've come across. Bass power is amazing and at times excessive. But it can be turned down, so that's not an issue. The problem I see is that the middle-range sounds are very subdued. The front speakers are not powerful enough and too small to match the bass power in the mid-tone range. I wish JVC used front speakers with larger diameter cones to compensate for this. Another major issue is it's weak radio reception in FM diapason. Only the most powerful stations will give you acceptable sound and won't be drowned in noise. But hey, who buys a boombox to listen to the radio? And for the dance music that it's designed for, it's a wonderful unit. Not perfect, but so far the best I've found.
Kaboom!! WOW! July 11, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
If you like big sound, then stop looking! Super power Bass. You will need a power supply and inverter for this bad boy. I find the radio very good. I have a distant station I love and many other radios cant't pick it up,but the Kaboom does it well. This unit CRANKS love it.

In 1980 I bought a JVC RCM70JW BoomBox. I will pass it on to the grand kids. It still works great. However, the new RVNB20 is the latest and greatest. Big Bass & Clear highs. It has all the hookups you could need to play your favorite music. Super product.
Best Sounding Boombox, Bar None!!!! April 25, 2008 I think this is the best sounding boombox of any boombox I've listened to. But be aware that it takes a lot of batteries and large magnets in the speakers to make good loud music and this adds to the weight of the unit. This sucker is heavy and bulky to carry. If you want something conviently portable, move on - this isn't for you.
If you want to annoy everyone in a 50 yard radius on the beach this is for you - but remember the spare batteries.
large April 18, 2008 It is large , everything worked, for how large it is , it is not all that loud, but loud enough for me. You would'nt carry it around or anything. The guitar amp works, and I think it sounds about like a $60 amp. The ipod connector cable only appears to work on this unit.
