Editorial Reviews:
Product Description Will your child be wearing headphones on a long road trip? The MDR-222KD headphones were created to be easy on young ears, with moderate volume levels and a lightweight and comfortable design. Children eight years old and up will safely enjoy hours of their own personal soundtrack while you relax in silence.Your child will love the comfortable fit of these specially-designed headphones. The MDR-222KD headphones were designed with a child's head in mind. This allows the child to comfortably wear the headphones without strain that full sized headphones might cause as well as fit that eliminates the need to constantly adjust the headphones. The sensitive nature of children's ears has been taken into account by increasing the impedance on the headphones to try to eliminate volume issues that full sized earphones might cause. By sizing these headphones correctly your child can use these headphones on long trips very comfortably.

Great - my kids love them. January 7, 2009 Perfect for kids who are too young/small to use the earbuds that come with video games and mp3 players.
Poor Sound Quality & Extremely low volume December 25, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Maybe we got a dud...but I bought some of these headphones at Target before a road trip & the sound quality is extremely poor. Our 5 y.o. finally just wanted them unplugged since the ambient road noise was drowning out the sound from the show she was watching. I suspect the volume regulation is set low in an abundance of caution against ear damage, but Sony went too low in this case.
