Great Monitor! January 8, 2009 Worth every cent! I had a Samsung 15" monitor that worked just fine, but wow what a difference this makes. Like others have said, 19" is more than enough, anything bigger would almost be too much.
Strongest recommendation!
Nice picture December 17, 2008 I am far from an experienced consumer with respect to monitors and computers, but I really like my HP monitor. The resolution is fine. Details in photos are clear and accurate. The monitor allows some adjustments to make regarding the picture quality.
A key factor for me in purchasing this particular monitor was it's space saving quality. The base is designed to accept my HP keyboard underneath the monitor, thus saving space on my desk. Also the built in 2 watt speakers eliminate the need for additional speakers on, under or around my desk. The quality and volume are fine for the internet, but you would probably want better speakers if you want to watch videos or do any gaming.
Overall I am satisfied with my purchase.
Great monitor until it stopped working... December 16, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I figured I should add my experience about this monitor because most of the reviews are positive and I did have a negative experience with it. I have used many HP products in the past and am currently using two HP computers. It is usually my preferred brand of choice.
I bought this HP 19-inch monitor in February 2008 from Staples for about $209 and loved it. I was coming off of a 15-inch monitor so it was a great improvement. The monitor comes with an installation CD which allows you to choose the type and size of the view you want for your needs.
Just the other day I went to turn my computer and monitor on and the monitor was completely dead. I tried troubleshooting myself but I of course had to call tech support. Two hours later they advised me they need to ship me a brand new monitor because they cannot fix it either. I had to give them my credit card information as collateral that I will send the bad monitor back to them once I receive the new one.
Let me just specify that this monitor is marked as only being manufactured in December 2007, I bought in February 2008, and it died in December 2008. Hold on to your receipt - just in case you draw the short straw like I did. There is a one year limited warranty on it from HP.
A Great Monitor with a Crisp Display November 30, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I've been using this monitor with my home computer for about three months now and I'm still amazed by its crisp picture and bright colors. I use 19 inch Samsung and Dell monitors at work and this HP monitor is hands down the best of the three I use. The combination of the widescreen and the the bright picture makes the monitor feel bigger than it actually is, so you feel like you have plenty of screen real estate. The monitor is also big enough that you can use it to watch movies on. I would recommend this monitor to anyone looking for a new LCD flat screen.
Very crisp and bright. Nice stand, too November 24, 2008 Oh man do I love this monitor. The blacks are black and the text is crisp. The stand is nice and solid, but it does not tilt like some of the similar HPs do. I find that sitting on my desk with a raised monitor platform it's a non-issue. The stand has a recessed area which seems like a good place to set a phone or mp3 player. I think the info box stays on a little long when coming back from a sleep, but if that's my only complaint, we're doing pretty well. I'm running 1440x900 next to my MacBook and it looks great.
