Product Description The Uniden EXAI378 series cordless telephone and answering system is designed and engineered to exacting standards for reliability, long life, and outstanding performance. The EXAI378 series features include AutoTalk and AutoStandby. AutoTalk allows you to answer a call by just removing the handset from the base so you don't have to waste time pushing buttons. AutoStandby allows you to hang up by simply returning the handset to the base. The UltraClear Plus true compander circuitry virtually eliminates background noise. This innovative technology, together with 20 different channels, provides you with the best possible reception during all your conversations. To protect you against misbilled calls which might result from your phone being activated by other equipment, the EXAI378 series has Random Code digital security which automatically selects one of over 262, 000 digital security codes for the handset and base. Also, the AutoSecure feature electronically locks your phone when the handset is in the base. Last but not least, this phone features RocketDial - a one-touch speed dial key that automatically dials your most important or frequently called number. The number dialed, is a preset number stored by the user.
Amazon.com Product Description Uniden's EXAI-378 900 MHz cordless phone offers extended range, compared to older phones operating on a lower band, meaning that you can walk farther while you talk. Tried-and-true analog technology provides simple operation and permits a value price. Caller ID with call waiting capability allows you to identify and screen your calls, and stores up to 30 numbers in memory that are easily called back from the handset LCD. The integrated digital answering system delivers up to 15 minutes of clear messages, and the new message indicator lets you know when you've missed a call. Additional features include your choice of English or French language menus, voice-menu prompts, last-number redial, autoscanning, handset locator, pulse/tone dialing, and more. Plus, the EXAI-378 is hearing aid and headset compatible, desk- or wall-mountable, and includes a belt clip for hands-free convenience.

Great phone May 25, 2007 This phone is awesome. WOrks very well, very clear voice quality, and the rocket dial is unique to Uniden Phones. Very cool. Good answering machine with enough volume and clarity to hear it from across the room. Granted you can get a 2.4 or 5.8 gHz phone for $40 and get "amazing voice quality" but this is a great economy phone for college students (myself) as well as people looking to make simple calls. I have not tested the battery life > 1 hr, but up to 1 hr it was perfect.
You can count on it December 3, 2003 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I have had this unit for over a yr and cannot say anything bad about it. I have never lost a call. I have walked all over the house and outside and the call never faded. I have moved fr orig area and still in the hills can go outside. Sticking with the 900. I do need a speakphone now, so this baby will go in bedroom and plan on buying a uniden phone with speaker. good buy and dependable.
Great product! September 15, 2003 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I was a little hesitant about buying this because of all the bad reviews I read, well I am very glad that I went with my instinct. It is the best phone by far that I have purchased. The battery life is awesome! And it is so user friendly! I highly recommend this phone!
save your money... June 17, 2003 i never write these reviews but felt compelled after buying this piece of garbage. it worked ok for the first few month but then i gradually started hearing more and more crackling and interference. the straw that broke the camel's back was when my fiancee called and i couldn't hear her. when i tried to change the channel it bascially just died. i promptly spiked the phone on the floor into a million pieces. the battery never seemed to really hook up right to the unit, the caller id came up when it wanted to, and the reception was uneven.save you money!!! buy something else.
Something you can live without May 22, 2003 3 out of 5 found this review helpful
I bought it from my Amazon goldbox. my review follows... Plus: So it comes with caller ID and one mailbox digital answering machine (must haves for small apartment dwellers with space-saving requirements). Minus: The handset is designed for Frodo Baggins. It is rather uncomfortably small. On Net: Save yourself the trouble - buy a higher than 900mhz set.
