The SC-PM19K includes a single-well cassette recorder and a five-CD changer with Panasonic's exclusive MASH (multi-stage noise-shaping technology) 1-bit digital-to-analog converter for clear, accurate sound reproduction. And the system plays not only prerecorded CDs but home-brewed CD-Rs and CD-RWs, and it's compatible with MP3 digital audio files. It's also available in a silver/wood finish.  Looks may be deceiving... AVOID this unreliable player August 29, 2005

I agree that the player looks and sounds nice, but it fails on the reliability factor. I've had this player in for servicing three times in less than a year. After about 3 months of play all my CDs began skipping. I get it fixed and a few months later, all my CDs are skipping again. The player is very UNRELIABLE. I was warned that lot's of moving parts = more chances of player failure. This is definitely the case here. The CD changer involves many mechanical moving parts. I should have listened to the warnings. This is a player to definitely AVOID! Unless of course you enjoy spending alot of time at the repair shops.

I broke this stereo. I should not blame Panasonic for my negligence, but I will anyway. The SC-PM19K worked great, but it's too big and too cumbersome.
The price was Okay, but I would definitely buy a smaller, more lightweight system in the future. The positives are that I could play five of my favorite CD's at one time and the sound quality and other technical aspects of the player were great.
Maybe I should not have attempted to move my stereo with one hand, but with all of the advancements in technology, Panasonic should also be able to make a system that weighs less than a hundred pounds.
