 Save your money and sanity April 5, 2007
I purchased this to save space while also connecting my new DVD player to my old TV. It required a PhD in engineering to set up and stopped working completely after a few months. Save your money and avoid this product.

For an older television several years ago I bought this to connect to a dvd player. It worked great and I never noticed any problems. When I got tired of seeing the problems caused when my parents routed their dvd player through their VCR I thought I would get this to fix it since I had such good luck last time. My new one didn't work quite as well as the old one, it fixes some of the problems, like how when hooked though the VCR the color would shift from bright to dark at random. It also added a problem. It seemed to have slowed down the video so now the audio is slightly ahead of the video. Changing some of the setting on the DVD player mostly fixed the problem however if you pay very close attention you still notice a slight difference in the audio/video timing.
Does What it Should December 24, 2006
It has worked so well that I forgot that it was even there! For over a year, this unit has been an excellent video link from cheap Toshiba DVD player to a 10 year old Goldstar TV/VCR combo. Audio is clear, but the unit lowers volume by about 1/3.
Would recommend purchase from local store for easy return, as my experience appears to have been an exception.

I bought this mini modulator to use with my dvd player that didn't connect to my old TV. I've watched two dvds on it, and I can tell you it worked perfectly with me. Easy to set up and at an affordable price, this was a great purchase for me! I cannot understand the negative reviews on this product.
