4 out of 5 stars Does what it is supposed to...   January 20, 2007
I haven't had any problems with the car kit so far. The clip doesn't fit very well on the vent in my car, and I don't really have a spot to stick the mount to, but the clip works well enough so it's not a big deal. I'm sure most people can use either the vent clip or the mount to their satisfaction. I have the antenna on my trunk, and my car antenna is in the front, and it works with minimal static in a large urban area. The cords are long, and the magnet is very strong.

If anyone is looking for the right frequency to use, this should help, although it is for Sirius, so they might not like us XMers using it.

4 out of 5 stars Nexus car kit is as advertised, quality product   January 11, 2007
Very easy to mount, the vent clips seem to be improved over previous XM radio vent clips. The mounting adhesive and bracket work very well, as long as you have a flat surface to put them on. It has a wide range of FM frequency outputs which is great for those of you in the city where there are lots of stations interfering. The only gripe I have is that the FM signal output could be a bit stronger. It seems better in my XM MyFi than in the Nexus. That may be do to my car radio or FCC regulations though. Don't let it scare you away though, overall it is very nice.

5 out of 5 stars It's a car kit   January 5, 2007
Car kit works as advertised. I've had good luck with the fm modulator at the high end over 107 fm. If you know what the home dock looks like, you know what this will look like. THey are virtually identical. Only issue with this item is price, but I'm not considering that in the rating.

4 out of 5 stars Nexus Car Kit Review   August 13, 2006

Kit works fine. However, when I had it installed I learned the kit sends XM radio to the auto's audio system via FM. This leads to discernable static/warble (on occasion at normal volume, always at higher volume). The installer recommended a separately-purchased "direct connect" cable to improve sound quality.

As for the Nexus 25 unit, it would be valuable for it to display the countdown of the track, so we don't waste time recording a song when it's already begun when we arrive at that station (and we're hoping it's been playing less than 30 seconds).

4 out of 5 stars 2 things to take inside now...   August 6, 2006

The Nexus Car Kit was easy to install and comes with several mounting options. Our biggest challenge is to remember to remove both the Nexus player and the passport chip when we want to use the unit indoors. We had an XM MyFi and only had to grab the unit out of the car. Now there's two things to bring inside.
