Bad product... February 8, 2008 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
Is very bad product. Don't have good reception and sound, and lost easy the programation...I feel bad with the buy.
Lots of bells & whistles January 13, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I'll probably never use all of the features on this clock radio. It has a lot of them -- TV band, weather band, 2 FM bands, AM band, sleep, nap, snooze, gentle wake, select CD wake track, and so on. I needed a really good clock radio with a CD player and a digital FM tuner. This fills the bill beautifully. It's a nice compact unit with a relatively small "footprint," and the sound quality is quite good for this size model. You'll hear a little CD spinning sound when playing CDs, but it's pretty minimal and I have to admit I didn't notice it after the first moment or two. It does play CD-Rs as advertised and plays them very well. The radio reception is good but less than great. If you're listening to a semi-weak signal, you'll have to position the antenna a few different ways to find your station. I admit to being a little disappointed that the Gentle Wake feature only works with the buzzer and not with the radio or CD alarms. This unit was pretty easy to set up. I found the directions to be simple and user-friendly. I have experimented with the various alarm settings, and they work well. You can set different alarms with different wake modes (radio, buzzer, CD) for each person. One thing I really like is that I can fall asleep to a soothing CD while having the alarm set to the radio. This set does a lot of things really well. It was worth the money.
The Best Clock Radio I ever Bought! January 2, 2008 This Clock radio is awesome. I love waking up to a gentle song from a CD rather than news from a static filled radio station. The sound is great and does everything promised. It is bigger than expected but I still LOVE it!
A "little" too little and a little too tall November 29, 2007 While this product had all the features I wanted (plug in, alarm clock, radio, CD player with earplugs) and the sound is great - it's not exactly user friendly (I've had it two months now and still have not mastered how to turn the alarm off for the weekends) and the tiny labels on the machine require me to use a magnifying glass. Also, since it is tall, it is not quite as unobtrusive on my night table as I would like. And I've yet to find the weather feature. But all in all, since I could not find another on the market with the features I require, I like it.
User-friendly, maybe not snoozer-friendly November 19, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is one ambitious clock radio. About the only thing it can't do is make the coffee. Wake to radio. Wake to buzzer. Wake to CD. Wake gently. Wake abruptly. Let you nap. Let you go to sleep. Listen to AM. Listen to FM. Listen to TV (for now - the TV signals will cease when TV goes all-digital). Listen to weather. With digital tuning and enhanced bass. And more.
The price you pay for all these options is that the buttons are many and tiny. Well, I can't figure out how Sony could have avoided that problem and still produced a small footprint. So I say if you demand the functions you should be willing to do what it takes to use them.
I can see that folks who are bleary in the morning might have problems making the best use of every control. In my case, we have the radio in the bathroom and it's just great. But I don't often take naps in the tub.
