Amazon.com Product Description The stylishly simple Sony ICF-C212 is a basic, yet effective FM/AM clock radio. The ICF-C212 has been given a sleek new look. The clock radio's size and color will look unassuming on any bedside table, desk or bookshelf. The green LED numerals are nearly an inch high, providing easy recognition, even from across the bed and with fuzzy eyes. With the snooze button, Sony has made it quite easy to over-sleep class or that early morning work meeting. The timer function will turn off the radio after a set amount of time; this feature is especially nice for those who like to fall asleep to soothing music or the latest news. To reassure you of alarm activation, Sony has put an alarm indicator on the display; no longer will you wonder if you have indeed set and turned-on the alarm. If your area is prone to power outages, you will enjoy the full power back-up feature. The back-up required 9V battery will keep your clock and alarm functions operational should a power outage occur. The thumbwheel AM/FM tuner gives you options for either musical or talk-radio reception. What's in the Box Sony ICF-C212 (black) clock radio, ninety day warranty and user's manual.

Highly Recommended June 10, 2008 I had a clock like this for about two years, and needed a replacement. I checked out several stores but this model had been phased out. I was pleasantly surprised to find it online for much less. It is extremely durable, with an easy to read display. My favorite feature is the sliding bar on top for setting the alarm. Just slide it all the way to the right and voila! Never worry about oversleeping again.
Brilliant radio/alarm clock very reliable September 22, 2007 This alarm clock was a life saver. It is very reliable and easy to use. The display is very bright and lets yousee the time even when you're half awake. It lets you put in batteries so you won't oversleep when there's a power outage which was what saved me in last month's power outage. It also has excellent reception for radio which was great in my apt which has trouble receiving TV and cell phone signals. I would enthusiastically recommend this clock to college students who tend to not want to wake up.
Good value, excellent performance August 13, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Easy to use. Reliable. Very bright, even in dim mode. Visible from far away.
Does not pull in a signal where I live May 6, 2007 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I don't know if this is because of where I live or if it's just not a good product but I wouldn't recommend it. It's basically useless to me as a radio. It's fine as an alarm clock but if you want a radio you'd better keep looking. My mother has the same model and hers doesn't get a good signal either.
Why can't Sony make a clock/radio that RESETS itself April 13, 2007 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
for the next morning?? The night before you've ALWAYS got to slide it back to the alarm "on" position again, or your alarm will NOT go off in the morning. A person can't always remember to do this. Why not design one that resets the alarm for the next day at the same time. The others (such as RCA) make them that way. I realize that this clock is the lower price range, but please.........why haven't they improved the features in the past 13 years ? They are still using the same awkward sliding-bar control on the top of the unit -- same as they were using back in 1994! This one is going back to the store for a refund. July 2007: I really should update this, and give credit where credit is deserved. When I returned this model to SuperWalmart they were very gracious. I noticed that it had been recently replaced with another Sony model, the ICF-C218, which DOES reset every day, and was available for the same price, under $10.00. So I have been using that one for a couple months and am very pleaed with it so far. Easy to use buttons have replaced the old sliding bar. The ICF-C218 also is updated to change for the new daylight savings times automatically in March and November. Thanks Sony !
