Amazon.com Product Description Dedicated to providing a full-bodied entertainment experience on the go, the portable M520P DVD/CD/MP3 player includes a 10.2-inch TFT LCD display that makes your movies look great, along with both built-in speakers and a headphone jack for private listening--all in an attractive pearl-colored housing. The all-in-one entertainment bundle is a great way to entertain kids in the backseat, keep yourself amused on long plane trips, or bide time in a hotel room on rainy days. Among the unit's favorite features are a selectable aspect ratio (4:3 and 16:9), which lets you view movies in traditional format or full widescreen depending on your taste; multi-angle playback, which shows select movie scenes from several angles (requires compatible DVD); and a multilingual dialogue option for listening (or reading subtitles) in a variety of different languages. More traditional functions include slow motion, multi-speed forward and reverse scan, track programming, and zoom. Of course, DVDs are just one of the playback options, as the M520P also supports CD, CD-R/RW, HDCD, VCD, SVCD, DVD Audio, and Kodak Picture CD formats, along with MP3 and WMA files stored on a recordable CD. The variety of compatible formats is vastly superior to most portable DVD players, especially the DVD Audio and HDCD formats, both of which offer far better fidelity than audio CDs. To ensure the best possible audio performance, the M520P includes a built-in Dolby Digital decoder for DVD soundtracks, along with a Dolby/DTS SPDIF digital output that connects directly to 5.1-channel A/V receivers. By employing the latter option, users can enjoy full-bodied surround sound through their home theater system while watching films on the DVD player. Additional features include an S-video and composite video output for connecting the DVD player to a larger TV, a built-in PAL/NTSC tuner for traditional cable reception, a full-function remote control, and a car adapter that lets you power the device through your vehicle's cigarette lighter plug. The M520P measures 10.83 by 1.46 by 7.68 inches (W x H x D) and is backed by a one-year warranty. What's in the Box DVD player with LCD screen, AC adapter/power cord, remote control, earphone, user's manual.

Nice but battery does not last long November 20, 2007 Battery only lasted about 45 minutes the first time and second times I fully charged it. I read in the manual that at first you dont get the full 2 hrs advertised but it seems like 45 minutes is ridiculously low. Other than that, I like how it looks, how heavy it is and all the features. My only problem is how long it sustains a charge, not much by my initial estimations.

I have been so pleasently surprised by this item. Not only is it beautiful, but it works so well. It was a gift for my father, who has to sit through 4 hours of dialysis 3 times a week. This DVD Player has made his treatments bearable. Thank you ever so much!

I am enjoying it very much. It is everything I had hoped for.
not good these are refurbished units June 25, 2006 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
It has a great picture and good sound I really liked it, but I should have had a clue. Stamped on the front of the manual it says products sold as is. It lasted for about a month and that was that. I'll try and contact Amazon to see if I can get it repaired. I should have know better. Amazon should have posted that they are AS IS!
Not bad, but where's my warranty? May 15, 2006 20 out of 20 found this review helpful
My kids agree that this dvd player performs well. My only two complaints so far in the two days I have used it are:
1) The manual is stamped NO WARRANTY - AS IS. I believe it is because the company is out of business. However it doesn't leave a warm feeling in your tummy when you see that. I checked the box before opening it, and it appeared, for all intents and purposes to be brand new with no scratches, sealed plastics on everything, etc.
2) The old laptops had a problem with viewing angles - a little to the side and you could not see anything..... This has it to a lesser degree. A little to the side and you don't get the entire glory of the picture. The colors seem off and the features are a bit untinted. This is a biggie to me, as we bought it for use on long car trips so that all the kids in the second and third row of the minivan can see the screen. The kids have not complained though.
Bear in mind - a 10 inch widescreen is not a ten inch monitor. It's a rectangle that only goes up vertically 5 inches. I didn't realize that before purchasing. Beware before you purchase.
I bought an FM transmitter to play the sound through the van's sound system, because the one that goes into the tape player makes a lot of pop and hiss. Great buy for the money. Next cheapest at a decent price is the Cyberhome 1010a. Good luck.
