4 out of 5 stars Great case - needs a bit more room   July 3, 2008
I love it. It's easy to carry and protects my drive enclosure. But it needs a bit more room for the power brick, as there are amny that will not fit in this bag. Overall, it's a good purchase.

4 out of 5 stars WAY TOO BIG FOR LACIE 160 GB Rugged Hard Drive USB 2.0/FireWire400/FireWire800 8MB Cache   June 21, 2008
THIS CASE IS WAY TOO ROOMY FOR LaCie 160 GB Rugged Hard Drive USB 2.0/FireWire400/FireWire800 8MB Cache PORTABLE external HARD DRIVE & ACCESSORIES.

I exchanged the case for the SMALL CASE LOGIC portable external hard drive case and it is a great fit, secure, no jiggling about and bouncing around in the small case. Storage area for all of the cables and leads inside, too. The SMALL size is perfect for the LaCie Rugged!!!!!

If you have a lacie Rugged drive, choose the small Case Logic--the medium case doesn't hold the lacie drive in place at all. Even with all of the cables and leads stuffed in beside the drive, it rattled around in the excess room.

I'm sure this medium size is great for larger accessories like KINDLE. The Case Logic products I've purchased have all held up well. Nothing against this case. Just match it to the correct product to be stored inside.

5 out of 5 stars Other uses for an external HD case   June 5, 2008

I bought this case to house my EEE PC 4G. The main partition in the large pocket fits the laptop perfectly. Leaving the small partition to house the power supply and a mini mouse. In the lid, is a zippered mesh pocket that is perfect for holding SD cards and USB keys. The case is made of rigid foam that looks as though it will buffer the PC from the shock of dropping it or the odd item thown onto it (I'm not going to test this!) If you're an EEE PC owner, I would definitely suggest this as an alternative laptop case.

5 out of 5 stars Perfect for my LaCie HD   June 2, 2008
This Case Logic case is perfect. Although the "small" sized case MAY have fit my LaCie HD, ( LaCie Desktop Hard Disk 301285U 500 GB USB 2.0 External Hard Drive) it would have been far too tight and would not have had the room this medium sized case has for cables and other small but necessary items for taking your HD on the road. This case is very strong, well made, and the zipper opening is also well constructed. I think this case will last a good many years and provides a way to bring along/move a HD easily and without worry. Even the price is terrific through Amazon.

5 out of 5 stars For a Kindle case 5 stars   May 27, 2008

PM thank you thank you for discovering this case for your Kindle. I'm very happy with mine. I was looking for a good protective case since the amazon cover provides no protection against dust and whatever that it would encounter in a backpack or briefcase, etc.

Only two drawbacks:

1. I wish a shoulder strap were available but I'll probably be able to figure something out.

2. As PM said, the padding is a bit thin, actually only the fuzzy yellow lining around the main part of the case. The curved bottom is lined with the yellow stuff, but it is glued to the hard shell so provides little if no padding there. However, as PM also says, with the Kindle in the amazon cover, I think it is OK. Also, due to the curved bottom, the Kindle doesn't entirely rest on the case bottom, so if you wanted to, there would be room to insert a strip of foam or other padding in the bottom of the case (I'm debating doing this). I put my Kindle in with the sound buttons & jacks down.

By adjusting the vertical Velcro divider so it slants slightly left, the Kindle in its amazon cover fits snuggly but is easy to pull out, and the top is just level with the opening of the case.

The mesh compartment in the "lid" easily holds a Mighty Brite Book Light (especially with the clip turned down to fit into the curve of the lid), plus the USB cable, and a spare set of book lite batteries. I also keep a card with my contact info and a paper clip (for resets - I've had the Kindle lock up on me 4 times so far; I recommend against using the web browser or continuing shopping while a new book downloads or if you're expecting a periodical update.)

In the side compartment of the case body I can easily fit the Kindle power adapter/cord, plus a tiny SanDisk case for the SD memory card and a mini USB card reader, and there is still room so none of the accessories are crammed in or hard to get in or out.
