Behaves as expected and a little bit better. March 30, 2008 It works fine, I have been using it not to backup any data but to transport form one place to another important information, so far reading, writing and erasing have not affect it, my 2 year kid trough it once and still working in a very good shape.
This Hard Drive actually works! March 29, 2008 After suffering with a useless Maxtor 160 HD, this WD drive works as advertised. I wanted a HD that you could simply 'drag & drop' files onto the WD desktop icon - saved & done. Files can then be recovered or reviewed easily by clicking on the same icon. The USB power source eliminates one 110 V plug in from your setup. A final plus - the WD HD is compact - 1/4 the size of the Maxtor! The Maxtor HD required a schedule for saving files - totally useless - it made a nice hum (so does my clothes dryer) & the entry screen appeared on the desktop, but it never worked!! Want to buy it cheap??
Great Product March 28, 2008 My son recommended this to me because I was afraid I would loose all my photos on my computer. It was very easy to use and the best investment I ever made. I would recommend this product to anyone who needs to back up photos, music, etc. I love it. K. Angus WV

As a average computer operator, I found the Passport 120 to be very easy to use and work with.
Not for me, but it could be just fine for you March 26, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
This product uses a proprietary file system, and the drive can not be converted to FAT, FAT32, or NTFS. That's important information, and it should be on this product page. It wasn't.
If you're never going to use another program with it, other than the program that you have to buy from Western Digital (WD Sync) to sync your drive (why isn't that in the purchase price?), then fine. If you want to use other programs that take control of the device and need to use NTFS (it's a more secure file system), then you're out of luck.
Just like me!
