1 out of 5 stars garbage...expensive garbage   September 11, 2008

Ok so I was all proud my first "real"(not nano which didn't have this problem) I-Pod and its great for about the fist 3 months then the battery problems begin..I fully charge(overnight) use it about 3 1/2 hours put it to sleep and even lock it so the screen doesn't come on ..Just how the apple web site says ,right? well I never come out with more than 1/2 charge and sometimes its so drained I have no i-pod for the 45 minute commute home. so to sum it up on audio only with only a 5 second screen back light and minimal track switching I have less than 8 hours play time and a hold time of about 16-18 hours but occasionally less than 8. I used to be a really pro apple person but this has totally soured me on them. now what do I do spend 100 dollars having apple install another crappy useless battery in my unit? I didn't buy applecare because when I buy something I shouldn't EXPECT it to break in under 6 months!

5 out of 5 stars 80G Ipod   September 10, 2008
As always, anyhting from Apple is awesome. Ipod sounds great, looks great, easy to handle. Videos clear, pictures perfect.

3 out of 5 stars Not for Audio-Books   September 10, 2008

I returned the Zoon (horrible software), within a week, and replaced it with iPod 80 Gb. Well, I didn't realize until too late, that iPod is an iTunes-pay-per-Song-Delivery-Device. In other words it is not a personal recorder where you can download your legally owned stuff. It scrambles the tracks. This may not be an issue for music tracks, but for audio-books it is a disaster. As a matter of fact, unless you want to listen to music only, from iTunes (pay again for music), this device is a Frustration-Device.

1 out of 5 stars New iPod faulty   September 10, 2008

I purchased a 160 GB Classic iPod to replace a 30 GB iPod. The old iPod would synch to my music library without a problem. I can't get the new one to synch, I sent it back to Apple and they found no problems. I still can't get it to synch. I think it stinks. My daughter has a 4 giga nano and it has no problems synch music. Needless to say, I am not happy.

4 out of 5 stars Great But Needs To Be More User-Friendly   September 9, 2008

I'm still loading my CDs onto this wonderful gadget. It has tons of storage for not only music but videos, podcasts and pictures. It automatically sorts your "songs" (inc. parts of a classical work) via Genre, Artist, Composer... also you can design Playlists and assign files to them. and the album art feature adds to the beauty of the design. I approached the ear-bud headset with skepticism but music sounds great through them.

Needs to be more user friendly. I (dumbly) chose to load via my wife's Mac rather than my PC. I don't find the Apple operating system as accessible as many people do, but then, it's not one I use regularly. So getting to work this thing was (and still is) not as easy as I'd wish -- for example, I had to fool around more than I'd have liked to acquire album art. Additionally, the only hard-copy instructions you get are a little Quick Start Guide. The more detailed manuals are on-line so you have to search for the right one and then download and print it if you like to read the instructions off paper rather than the vid monitor. Considering the price, I'd have liked to get more paper instructions but I suppose the market for this product is mainly 16- 35 and not 58 year olds like me.

Nonetheless -- this product is the wave of the future.
