Ipod Classic October 20, 2007 Latest firmware upgrade can cause the internal HD to continue running after shut down, which of course runs the battery dead.
User interface is slow at best, coverflow is almost unusable. It never ceases to amaze me what Apple gets away with yet is still loved by everyone.
Update: if you do NOT use Coverflow to select an album for playback, the battery draining bug will not occur.
Why does Apple send you a white headphone for a black IPOD October 20, 2007 7 out of 14 found this review helpful
Please enlighten me. I recently bought an Black IPOD and received one with a white earpiece and white charger. I called Apple to return it and get a White IPOD but they want to charge me a 10% restocking fee. Wish I had bought it from Amazon instead. Do not buy from the Apple store, they will charge you a restocking fee if return it for any reason.

sharp edges and games would not upload October 20, 2007 3 out of 5 found this review helpful
The games I purchased cannot be downloaded due to a wrong software version. No comment from Apple how to fix this. The edges of the ipod are sharper than the old ones.
Sound not good enough October 20, 2007 110 out of 136 found this review helpful
I had been looking forward for some time to an iPod with enough storage to hold a large number of high quality Apple lossless files. So it was a real disappointment that the sound quality of this new model was actually worse than before.
Many people were willing to put up with substandard sound quality from compressed audio files because of the convenience. Now that the newest music players have enough capacity to store high quality audio, there is really no excuse for the poor digital-analog converters that Apple is apparently putting in the new iPod Classic. When playing exactly the same uncompressed WAV data, $100 CD players from Sony sound a lot better when plugged into a good stereo than the iPod.
The irony is that the fix should really be pretty simple: a decent digital-analog converter (perhaps the problems with the new chip can be fixed via a firmware upgrade), and a better equalizer with the ability to save user-defined settings would probably be enough for all but the most demanding listeners.
Nice Ipod October 19, 2007 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
This is my 4th Ipod & I am really enjoying the new look & feel of the product. The TV Out issue is a little disappointing however I am pleased over all. The product arrived in a very timely fashion & I have not had any problems with the Ipod.
