 Not good for recording music August 12, 2007

This recorder is good for recording lecturers. It is not good for recording music. I bought one for my daughter for her piano lesson. The playback of the lecture (from either the device itself or after I downloaded it to PC) was good, but the sound quality of piano was terrible, with lots of noises. I ended up returning it to the store.

This DVR would work if your using it to only record conversations with intermiittant spaces. However this is not a good recorder if you want to use it for recording musical passages or recitals. I got this for recording piano scales and to help me practice. However the sound quality from the tiny speaker is horrible during playback.

Pros: Easy to use, Recording Quality good, Recording time very good.
Long life on batteries. Good mic sensitivity. Able to download voice to computer files. Good price / value. If you need one of these, this is the one to buy, or any Sony brand for that matter.
Cons: No real negatives at this time.
