All the features for a great price November 15, 2007 16 out of 16 found this review helpful
We wanted a unit for our kitchen that would allow us to connect an ipod. This absolutely fit the bill, and I recommend it if youre looking to not spend a lot of money, but get something of value.
Cons: 1. Sound quality is what you would expect for this price range. If you're not an audiophile, you'll definitely be happy with it. But it could do with better high and low range response. Its not bad though. 2. The design - I think the dock should have been better integrated. Plus the speakers aren't connected to the main unit, so there are wires hanging out in the back. Tack on the ipod dock and yovue got one more wire.
Pros: 1. The remote controls the ipod when its in the doc. I wasn't expecting that feature. 2. Fits both our ipod original, and ipod nano easily. 3. Easy to use 4. There is an audio in (headphone like) connection in the front of the unit, in case you dont use an ipod but have some other MP3 player or external source to connect.
Great System! August 27, 2007 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
I was looking for a small system to play my IPOD that also had a CD player and radio and sounded good. This system met and exceeded my expectations. It is small enough to fit on my bedside table, is attractive, and sounds great--a really good deal for the price. I also received it very soon after my order was placed and in perfect condition.
Pretty nice system! July 5, 2007 14 out of 14 found this review helpful
I thought I would hate the attachment for the iPod connection, I thought why didn't they integrate the dock into the system? But I actually like it this way. The sound quality is great, but you have to fiddle with the equalizers to get the right sound for your music. It has an easy to use remote. The read out is clear and the set up was very easy! I would buy this as a gift. It's a great space saver and has all of the things you need (ah, no tape deck, but who uses tapes?) and looks sleek.
Neat System - Lousy Service from Panasonic June 4, 2007 5 out of 11 found this review helpful
Agree with prior reviews regarding features.
However, I puchased this item and set it up in my office on Sunday. Listed to it a bit on Monday and shut it down with the remote. When I tried to start it up about an hour later, there was no power to the unit. Did all the normal trouble shooting, called customer service and got the "you need to bring this unit in to a service center to have it looked at". Grrrrr. Since it seems to do what I want, I will either return it to the place I purchased it or go to the stupid service center. How do these manufacturers get away with this crap?
Nice Stereo for the office April 17, 2007 34 out of 34 found this review helpful
My perspective: I wanted a stereo for my office that would play/charge my ipod and also allow me to listen to the radio. The combo ipod stereos I looked at (including the one I actually bought and returned) were primarily for the ipod and didn't usually have much in the way of AM/FM or CD playing capabilities (poor tuner, no presets, etc.). Sound quality will probably not be a huge issue for me since I play this stereo at very low volumes, but I will say that the equalizer presets are useful when listening to AM radio.
To the review: *Set up was easy since this is a compact unit. Looks are great. *It takes up very little space on my desk. *The remote is great. It performs all of the necessary functions, including skipping ipod tracks, play/pause ipod, turning the unit off, switching between the ipod and am/fm and the cd player, etc. Very good feature because I wanted the stereo to be placed more than arm's length away from my sitting position. *The included antenna is for both AM and FM reception and is acceptable. I got good reception for the stations I listen to after some effort. *It reads mp3 CD's very fast - no long pause before it started playing the CD I put in. *The ipod dock is great - I thought it would be better if the stereo had a dock built in, but I like this better. I can put the dock a little closer to me than the rest of the stereo because that's what I need to reach when I want to grab up my ipod and drive somewhere. *The volume is very gradual and has very small steps. This is good for me so I don't have to compromise between too soft or too loud in the office. I can adjust it to just the right level.
Summary: Very nice stereo that fits my needs exactly. Was hoping to find something less than $100, but this was as close as I could find to a quality stereo that filled all of my needs for a reasonable price. Would buy it again.
