Wonderful Sound September 22, 2008 Purchased a RED 4GB Walkman at the NEX. Sounded so good that I had to get one for my wife. Found hers on AMAZON for $33 less after taxes. Ordered it with Supersaver shipping and it arrived in less than the amount of time the site said it would. The sound is superb, the size and weight are tiny. The capacity is phenominal, I have over 50 complete albums on each. The battery life is what the claim said at 33 hrs. It seems to me that I get more then that sometimes, but I've only timed it once. I'm still exploing what this device will do.
Just a heads up that the newer model is now available September 20, 2008 I was considering buying this but the newer NWZS736FBNC is now out. It makes this one look a bit outdated.
sony walkman September 14, 2008 Love the sony Walkman NWZS616F. I use it when on the treadmill. It has everything I need plus FM stations that were easy to program.
Good idea but bad reliability/warranty September 9, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The unit worked fine at the beginning. It displayed Chinese and Korean as well. The software was O.K. but can be improved. It started to have problem with USB connection after 4 months. In addition, the file retrieval had problem as well. Had to call Sony's customer service for help which wiped out the whole memory. At the fifth month, it stop holding the battery charge. The warranty covers part/labor for 90 days and part only till 1 year. Sony asked $77 flat fee for repair. Time to give iPod a try...
great little player September 2, 2008 Works with both my pcs...windows xp and windows vista. It was a good deal on Amazon for half-price when I bought it. Songs are tranferable by cut and paste or through windows media player 11. All you'd need to do is install the software (CD provided).
No major downsides. The accessories are expensive (as with all Sony products). A Silicon skin would set you back $20 at least. I'd recommend you replace the earphones to some better sounding ones...like Creative's EP60 earbuds....Enjoy!
