Pretty good but not excellent. A few minor flaws. August 14, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
For the way I use and transport my Zen, this case will work quite well. I transport it in a coat pocket and it pretty much sits on my desk at work or on a shelf in my car when I'm playing it.
However, if you are fairly rough with your Zen and throw it in a back pack with keys and change and who knows what else, this may not give you the protection you need. The magnetic catch is a bit weak and I could see it coming open in a back pack.
I like the look and feel of the leather, but, IMO, the red trim and stiching is a bit tacky. Most pictures on the web of this product don't show the red trim very much. I would prefer all black.
The control buttons are still very accessible once the unit is in the case. And the SD card slot, headphone jack, on/off switch are all open and accessible.
You will not be able to fold the flap back and stand the unit up by itself as shown in the picture. The flap just slides down and will not keep the zen propped up unless you put something behind it.
My last complaint is the clip on the back. I'm not quite sure what to make of this. It's too small to clip over the average belt. I'm not sure how you would ever use it. But it's permanently attached to the back of the case. So, when the case is flat on it's back on my desk it's resting on this clip. It doesn't lie perfectly flat. Really just a very minor problem, but it would be better if this clip wasn't there at all.
For as much complaining as I did you would think I didn't like this product, but I do like it. The complaints are minor and I can certainly live with them. As I mentioned above, the case will work very well for the way I use my Zen. I just wanted potential buyers to be aware of the short comings as I see them.
Actually works (sort of) for the Zen X-Fi better than for the Zen July 31, 2008 Bought originally for my now returned ZEN, I now use the case for my ZEN X-Fi while I wait it out for a clear acrylic option for the slightly thicker X-Fi. It's this greater girth to the X-Fi that actually makes the case fit more snugly to the newest member of the ZEN family over the design that the case was originally intended. It still would've been better had a built-in screen protection scheme been incorporated, but all in all the case does work, even if the big drawback for the X-Fi is the location of the power-hold switch moving to the back of the player.
But at least the key contents (i.e., the player that the case is protecting) no longer slides around anymore like it did during the ZEN days. Four stars for its ability to render double-duty (which is more than I can say about my dead, now returned ZEN).
Leather MP3 case Creative Zen July 5, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
A nice item. Would be great if it also had a place to store the ear pieces, but it does not, you will need a separate carry case for them.

Item came as described; delivery prompt. Case stretches quickly and Zen isn't as secure as I would like it to be. I don't trust the snap belt loop on back of case. I would've prefered a sturdy clip.
It's a good case with key elements June 20, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Hi - I don't agree that the case is thin. It has to be what it is as if it were any thicker, storage problems might arise. I like the case and the way it protects the screen and pad when closed. I think it is a better way to go than the gel case as heat can be dissipated from this case. I believe heat is what has caused my previous unit's screens delamination or cracking. My only complaint about the case is that the point of where the lid closes magnetically, it is not flush with the rest of the case and so it seems to cause a bit of a "lip" or space between itself and the rest of the case. It has closed up a bit over time but it is still there. That's why I rated it 4 instead of 5 stars.
