A Perfect Album August 19, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I think it's been said all before in the other reviews, but I'll say it anyhow. This album is just one of those bits of perfect music, put together in a way that flows and ebbs in order to keep you hooked. And hooked you will remain! From the hard-hitting electronica of "15 Step" to the haunting piano and lyrics from "Videotape". It's my favorite Radiohead album by far and one that should be listened to and relished by anyone interested in either Radiohead or just good music.
Tried & True, but also tired and trite August 1, 2008 1 out of 10 found this review helpful
Yawn...... yeah sure it's them, it's Radiohead, but really, I was really hoping for a complete jump forward from the sounds of their lasy few years and do something that would really make us open our eyes, like they did when they made that massive jump from The Bends, to OK Computer, to Kid A, to Amnesiac. It's well produced, has some good sounds, but it blends too much with the rest of it to make it not as distinct nor as interesting.
The definition of perfection. July 27, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Radiohead is my favorite band...not the best way to start out a review, I know, because you're thinking most likely it's going to be horribly biased....BUT....I'm a really big fan of music. I eat, sleep, drink, breathe it and this by definition is what I'm looking for in an album. I got it for like $1 digitally, then bought it when it came out. Listen to the whole thing from start to finish on a regular basis and you will be a better person...I promise. :) But, for real, good job Thom & the boys. See you at Lollapalooza next weekend...I can't wait!!!!!
My favorite, so far July 26, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I bought In Rainbows first, so it was my introduction to Radiohead. Since the purchase, I have been buying their other CDs or MP3s. While I think all the albums are great, this one is still my favorite out of OK Computer, Hail to the Thief, The Bends, and Kid A. Kid A is possibly my second favorite. I think both of those albums are getting bad reviews, because people have favorites like The Bends or OK Computer, and they were expecting the same music. There is no reason why anyone should skip this CD. If you like Radiohead, this one is really a stellar choice. I am really listening to all their CDs at the same time, since I am just getting into them. They are right up my ally since I like Pink Floyd and alternative music.
Mellow Yellow, and blue, orange, green, red, etc. July 24, 2008 You know when you're tuning a guitar, and you keep tweaking it tighter and tighter, and the pitch keeps rising, until eventually it snaps and evens its tone out? That's what happened with Radiohead, where the experimentation and chaotic sounds of their previous albums finally give way to a delectable mellow buzz. Bravo.
