The "Clip's" clip October 28, 2008 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I have several of the Sansa Clips and they all are have great sound, excellent battery life and are very durable. Two problems to note:
1. I would advise against upgrading to the newest firmware using the Sandisk Firmware Updater as the player then tends to play downloaded podcasts in the wrong order; e.g., Hr 3--> Hr 2 --> Hr 1. Very annoying and distracting!
2. The 4 Gb Silver "Clip" has a removable clip which unfortunately falls off very easily and, being translucent, is very hard to find. Mine is AWOL and of course I can't find anyone who sells replacement clips. This is rather sad as the clip is what makes the "Clip" handy! (FWIW, the 1 Gb Clips have a permanently affixed clip.)
So, 5 stars for the player-1/2 for the clip and 1/2 for the firmware = 4.
Had 2 both quite working within 1 month October 26, 2008 1 out of 5 found this review helpful
Bought the first one it lasted 10 days. Exchanged it for another the second one lasted 1 month. Sandisk is impossible to deal with and they will string you along forever. This product design is flawed
Follow up, Sandisk after 2 months of back and forth has replaced the unit. During the long wait I bought a Sony Walkman that was the same price with all same features and more(a little larger unit, not a problem). The Sony has been flawless and I am completely satisfied during my morning workout. I have yet to use the new sandisk
Finally got the hang of it October 25, 2008 It took awhile for me to figure out the playlists. Probably should have read and printed the instructions from SanDisk first! The ones that come with the player are very basic. It appears that songs are added to the player automatically, even if I only want them on the playlist. Oh, and I'm using Windows Vista, so if you haven't already pounded your head repeateadly against the wall in frustration while trying to figure out this program, this should do it. Everything is a little bit different. Got a skin for it, as I read that sweat will cause problems. Very easy to operate while I work away at the gym, the buttons are easy to find.
Great MP3 player October 22, 2008 This item is terrific.
For the most part, I listen to music on an iPod Touch. However, I wanted a player I could take camping, and the Touch just seemed too valuable to take in the woods. So, I decided to get myself a less expensive player.
The Clip is perfect. 4GB is more than enough space. It is small and light, the controls are easy, it holds a long charge, and the sound is great. Plus the thing records voice and can capture FM radio. Good earphones, too. And all at a great price. Apple should take lessons.
Paired with a pair of mini-speakers (I bought LG mini-speakers (VX8500?) that are the size, weight and configuration of a clam shell cell phone), it totally proved its mettle camping this fall.
Highly recommended (and I am a tough grader).
Wonderful MP3 player October 19, 2008 I love this player. It includes an FM radio, it's easy to put music on, it is user friendly, it's small, and it's easy to attach to pants using the detachable clip. There is also a lock feature to prevent buttons from being accidently pressed. I highly recommend it.
