5 out of 5 stars I-Touch is Great   April 11, 2008
0 out of 1 found this review helpful

We are extremely happy with our I-Touch. The music sound quality is great and we can carry a multitude of family and vacation pictures with us. We have an IMAC computer and when we sinc our I-Touch, it automatically updates our calendar and address book. This is a wonderful way to have your calendar with you at all times. I would like to see Apple do a better job of offering dock options for the I-Touch that would give S-vidio connections and stero connections to play my I-Touch through my home stereo system and watch movies that have been downloaded to my I-Touch on the big screen. The problem isn't the I-Touch it is the availability of truly compatible accessories.

4 out of 5 stars IPOD 32GB   April 11, 2008

One big problem with this device, i changed after several years from Sony to IPOD to find that the storage capacity is reduced by around half. ATRAC (now defunct) allowed a stupendous amount of music on the Sony device at decent quality. Pain of a PC Program as it had, it was bearable, just.
The IPOD Touch at 32Gb cant hold even half as much as an old HD5 even if the operating system on the touch is a dream come true. I used to have my entire collection on hand and on the move.
Bottom line, i can feel good having the latest device but cant walk with my head held high knowing that the music in my pocket is drastically edited from my collection.
If Apple were to swallow their pride and adopt the ATRAC format, you wouldnt have wasted your time reading this review.

5 out of 5 stars In love with the iTouch   April 11, 2008
I am a total tech nerd and it's almost shameful how much I spend on tech devices, I started with the Rio when I was 12 and it's been glory ever since. I have had a sidekick, every model iPod etc...so needless to say I am picky about product.

The iTouch seriously blew my socks off. It has a better wi-fi signal than my Mac computer and it's such a "thoughtful" device. It was hell setting up gmail with the uploaded 1.1.4 software so that's just a warning, the gmail directions or "simple set-up" didn't work for me. But now that i figured it out I LOVE it.

The contacts save and when you go to write an email they upload over there, you can program your email to just manualy check when you get on so it doesn't waste the battery, and even better you don't have to pay a monthly phone bill with it! I am seriously the biggest fan of this thing ever.

I am trying to think of lame things about it to warn costumers, I think the lamest thing is having no wall charger or having to switch out my Monster cable for a lower voltage (it will melt your iTouch with too much use). But that's about it.

I think even with the highest expectations you will be pleasantly suprised.

5 out of 5 stars I Touch   April 10, 2008
This product is great. It doesnt get wi fi everywhere which can be a bother when wanting to use the internet. But when wi fi is available the it is flawless and fast.It has all the features of the iphone except the phone and the video and pictures. Its worth the purchase if you plan to use it alot.

1 out of 5 stars ON? OFF? VOLUME?   April 10, 2008

The most basic elements of a music playing machine are ON, OFF and VOLUME. These are all highly inaccessible on the go, which is where this device is used otherwise use the home computer or home stereo. So you are walking down the street with your iPod touch going and you are rockin' out a bit and a you see a friend and they say "Hi" and you barely heard them so ensues the awkwardness of this machine. To lower the volume or pause in the 1/2 second you have is impossible. You have to wait for screens to show up and gravity to send the right message and screens to adjust and lighting and etc. and then you have to hit this and slide that and by then your friend is gone. Best is to rip the ear buds out and risk all those tangles as the bud finds whatever edge or corner it can then gets grabbed and the jack gets ripped from the machine or whatever... its a freaking mess. Operating this machine while driving? Might as well drink a fifth of Jack because that's how disconnected from the road you get when trying to change anything about what's playing.

in a nutshell. great device if you are are stationary but then isn't that what a desktop computer is for? Don't waste your time, money and frustration free moments.

PS - the touch screen is sketchy - some times it works, sometimes it doesn't - simply a gimmick thats not ready for primetime or useful engagement on the human finger.
