A Fun Product to have around September 19, 2008 The touch is a fun product to have. It is basically a mini computer you can carry around in your pocket. As long as you have a wifi connection available you can get to your e-mail, web sites, get RSS feeds, etc. The app store has lots of very useful tools and more are added every day.
On the down side, having to pay $10 to get the latest upgrade was just stupid. I have been in IT since I was 20 years old and I have never-ever had to pay for an upgrade that was available before the product was purchased. No amount of discussion with Apple staff could persuade them otherwise. Apple wonders why they can't compete in the corporate space and its policies like this one that keep them out of that arena.
Worth every penny... September 17, 2008 Since I bought the iPod touch, i've never used any other portable player. i ordered through amazon.com because it was cheaper than anywhere else i've looked. some places still don't have the 32GB version of the ipod touch. the highest i've seen it in stores is 16GB and it was about the same price as the 32GB on amazon.com. as far as the item goes, it's just like all other ipod's except it does a really good job of being better than the previous ipod. it's slightly thinner than the iphone, it is a perfect solution for the people that don't have at&t carriers. i currently have at&t but i don't like the idea of changing my current plan just to get the iphone. eventually the ipod touch will get cheaper, but by then, there will be another product worth spending your money on. this is worth the purchase ONLY ON amazon.com.
Great product September 17, 2008 The Wi-Fi is the best part. Battery life could be improved when using Wi-Fi though.
Dishonest Amazon September 16, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I was very excited to find that I could purchase an iPod touch using my American Express points. I was VERY disappointed to find out, however that my one-year Apple warranty was reduced to six months because of Amazon's negligence. According to Apple, when a third party purchases Apple products for resale and does not sell them in an efficient time frame, the products are supposed to be returned to Apple and have the serial numbers reset in order to update the one-year insurance policy. After several calls to American Express, Apple and Amazon, I expect that I will never get the full warranty on my product and I will never make another purchase from Amazon.
