My experience: Great functionality, poor quality June 7, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I purchased the 16 GB iPod touch in January, 2008. The design and ease of use quickly had me singing the praises of Apple. The apps and functionality are perfect for my needs. The only criticism that I've had since the beginning is a common one: lack of external buttons to control the player; this is a big deal when you're driving or out for a run.
But then... After a few months, I started to encounter problems with the battery completely draining while in sleep mode. I took it in to the Apple Store, got good service once I had an appointment, and they exchanged it (possibly for a refurbished or returned one). After two days, the new iPod was randomly powering off in sleep mode... Back to the store, where they exchanged it again. One day later, the third iPod's sleep/wake button stopped functioning; it needs to be pressed five or six times before going into sleep mode. Back to the store, where I'm sure they'll tell me (again) how lucky I am that they happen to have a replacement in stock.
Seems like there are quite a few iPod touches floating around with poor-quality hardware in them. Such a shame. If the fourth one flops, I'm asking for my money back.
Great! Fits perfectly and was delivered VERY QUICKLY! Thanks for great service June 5, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I love the iPod Touch! I debated on this vs. the iPhone & for the money this has been worth it, the only complaint is when some places have free wifi but I still can't connect online with the iPod, but that has to do with their set-up. I love having music, TV Shows, video's pictures, e-mail, etc. on my iPod! Love it

Bought this as a gift my for my niece, she is 13 and she loves it! She had the classic video iPod, and wanted the 16g touch which I bought. She is in love with this device.
SIMPLY FANTASTIC !!!!!!! June 4, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The APPLE IPOD TOUCH 32GB is simply FANTASTIC ! It is so simple to use and has plenty of storage space for anything I might want to add. The music application is wonderful and with a simple accesory, I use it to play on my car stereo system, which make my kids happy because I am able to store all of their favorite music on it, as well as my own. For movies, this iPod is incredible. The LCD screen is clear and crisp enough for anything I wish to watch. (Which is nice for those times spent in the car on a long trip.) I've stored some of my classic movies on it and it hardly took up any room at all ! And if I choose to, the composite accessory cables make it possible to transfer my movies to a TV. (I plan on using those for on vacation this summer at the condo.) It's nice to not have to drag around those extra DVD cases and player. It's also nice to store a BUNCH of pictures on it. I always have a lot of family photos and memories ready at the click of a button or tap on the screen. Originally, I had chosen the 16 GB version, but, for the extra little bit of money, the extra storage space is so worth it. This is one purchase I haven't regretted even for a moment.....
The pocket computer we've been promised for years June 3, 2008 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
The iPod touch is the Internet computer in your pocket the futurists have been predicting for decades. I haven't jailbroken mine, and I anticipate the advanced functionality of the upcoming 2.0 software (due for release on June 9). But even today I use plenty of iPhone/iPod-ready web apps that do an amazing job.
The Safari web browser is the best web experience on a handheld ever.
I wish Mail let me bulk-delete messages. Deleting one by one is very tedious.
Synching using iTunes on a Mac is seamless, not a single problem yet.
I wish I could have afforded the 16Gb or 32Gb so I could carry more music, movies, and photos (not to mention the forthcoming applications) so if you have the cash, do it.
