Atleast its not an ipod... September 19, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
The good: Plays music, sounds great, looks great, not an iPod.
The bad: Zune software too simplified, no control over your music organization other than manually editing the tags. The touch pad is annoying; since it does not have a separate select button, you can end up skipping, rewinding or moving in menus instead of just selecting what you want.
Great product September 17, 2008 A lot of people said they had trouble with the syncing, with everything automatically syncing up. These people are stupid as one of the first options you are presented with is to untick the box that says sync everything, instead it is very simple just to select what you want on the player and then let it just sync those items.
The user interface is great, the touchpad is so easy to use. The big screen shows videos very clearly.
The one issue i have had is with the software, an error occured so the player just erased everything, although time consuming, once i plugged the player back in it put all the items i had wanted synced straight back on there.
On another note i live in Sydney, where the Zune is not available so i had to import it. Microsoft won't let you download the zune program so you will have to do some searching to get it from another site, not hard to do, just a word of warning
Highly recommended
This is for You. September 16, 2008 For real this is a fantastic product that beats out the iPod series. If you have problems choosing, just remember this: Microsoft made the Zune with idea of sharing and socializing music as well as making it a versatile device. The Zune supports not only the Mpeg-3 audio format and great sounding Windows Media Audio format (which supports a greater frequency range for great sound than both the mp3 or Apple branded Mpeg-4 audio layer), but also supports Apples own formats for both audio and video formats. The new 80 gig supporting zero conversion now for Mpeg-4 videos as well. Not convinced? How about the crystal-clear 3.2 inch display and sturdy device case. The screen displays beautiful quality images and videos. The screen is also cover by glass screen which is made to prevent scratches. And now XNA has begun to make Zune games and allowed users to make their own games an distribute them for free. And finally a support team that is continually taking ideas from Zune users online and using them for future updates to improve the devices even more. What else could you ask for?
My only suggestion is to buy this device else where. The Amazon price is way to high. You can get the 80 gig for as low as $250. Shop now!
Great MP3 Player September 10, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The Zune's 80GB is enough storage for tons of music or videos. The device's interface is great and the touch sensitive pad makes scrolling through albums a simple task. The screen can display movies in a wide format making 16:9 aspect videos look crisp and large. The Zune software is only compatible with PCs (as of now) and is decent. I recommend this product to anyone looking for a high capacity MP3 player
