If Handy Is Priority... September 20, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is a decent little tripod. More 3.5 star in my opinion, but I rounded it up because of its versatility from having both multiple applications [legs to stand on or claw-style grip] and multiple clips allowing the Gorillapod to attach to a variety of devices.
I like the compact size. It can be easily carried inside of just about any case you might be taking with you. And as flexible as it is, it can even fit comfortably in your pants pocket if you so desire.
This one is definitely for the smaller, shirt pocket sized point-and-shoot cameras...nothing too heavy, such as my old, bulky Sony CD Mavica, as the legs will go flat underneath it.
Also, I absolutely would NOT trust this thing to keep even a small camera safe in any precarious positions. If there's nowhere for your camera to fall and smash into bits, then this sized Gorillapod is just right.
Additionally, there is enough rigidity in the flexible legs to wrap to grip onto a mesh fence or something as well and it would hold nicely.
Each leg is about five inches long, and the balls which the legs consist of are each just slightly larger than a half inch in diameter.
The Joby GP1-M1EN Gorillapod GoGo Flexible Tripod is convenient and it does some useful things which a traditional tripod will not.
Handy product.
Pricey but Nice September 19, 2008 The product is as multi use and flexible as advertised. At +20$ the price is a bit steep for what you are getting but if you order it, you'll be happy with the product.
Okay camera tripod but nothing more September 10, 2008 The new gorillapos flexible tripo with suction cup and adhensive clips is a mixed bag. It is flexible and works well as a camera tripod allowing you to bend it, flex it and attach it to virtually any surface. IT does not work well as a standing ipod for an MP4 video player which is the main reason I purchased this one. Its suction cup is simply not strong enough. I tested it on a MetroNorth train. I had planned to watch videos on my ipod on this trip but the suction cup keep losing its suction and the ipod almost crashed to the floor after several attempts.
Works like it should September 9, 2008 I like how flexible this thing is and it holds my camera, Canon G7, as it should. The only downside if any is that the legs could be a bit longer. They worked perfect it is just that around larger tree branches I would feel safer if they wrapped more. Probably a mute point though.
Makes a great addition to the trashcan September 8, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
So I've had my tripod for 3 days and it has completely fallen to pieces. One of the little rubber feet came off the day I bought it, and today one of the arms fell off. There is no reattaching it, the wire inside actually broke. Great.
I could've made a better product with a pack of chewing gum and a rubber band.
