great little stereo microphone January 27, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
For decent portable recording this stereo directional microphone cannot be beat. It has two directionality settings of 90 and 120 degrees. The single AA battery life is practically forever as long as you remember to turn it off. It works best close up however recoding concerts from the audience is also good if you watch your levels and adjust them accordingly. I get many compliments about my recordings. I use it with a Sharp MD recorder and also bought one for a Roland Micro Digital recorder. It comes with a holder/stand which also can attach to a floor microphone stand if you find the right thread which I never have. That might be the only negative. It also comes with a voice/wind cover to muffle air noise. For a little less than a $100 I think it is a good value.
Expected more January 2, 2008 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
Expecter more, that's it. I am a 30-year fan of SONY products but the application of using this mike varies from good to horrible depending on the source of recording. If you hook it up to a mini-disc recorder it'll shine for you for 24-7 but anything else is a let down. There's nothing bad to say about the seller, he did his part.
The recorded volume is too low October 22, 2007 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
The recorded volume is too low. It is said a separate amplifier is requied. If that's true, why not integrate an amplifier into the microphone case itself? In short this is not a product for computer sound card. Maybe it is good for camcorder, never tried. Good thing: the recorded sound fidelity is great. Bad thing: Volume is low, so that background noise is obvious. We returend the product.
This Thing! August 5, 2007 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
Man,it's a good mike!Value! Clear and powerful.Obviously great for minidisc recording but it sounds good on a piano going into a Fostex MR-8HD.Yep,it's a keeper.
High Quality, Affordable Digital Mic July 22, 2007 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
I use this very affordable digital stereo microphone for recording trainings. I use it with a camcorder and a computer and it always does a perfect job. Battery life is good, and sound quality is excellent. This mic picks up little background noise. As most mics do, it offers a close-range mode and extended range mode.
I love the fact that it is simple to use. There is no learning curve here. Out of the box and ready to go.
In our high tech world, we replace digital equipment every couple of years because something better comes along. For our purposes, nothing better has come along, so this has been our only recording microphone.
