These Headphones really do work great!!! October 24, 2004 13 out of 13 found this review helpful
I live in a 3 bedroom ranch (1 story). I hooked up the headphones in a back bedroom corner to my computer speakers and listened to web broadcasts. The sound quality was awesome with NO background noise. No manual tuning was necessary, they worked great. The sound was perfect throughout the house. I took them to my sunroom that is off the opposite end of the house from my computer and there was some "broken" transmission. They worked perfectly there, however, when I stopped moving around. I'm thrilled, couldn't ask for anything more from headphones. These were factory refurbished so I didn't get the original packaging (who needs it). Consumer Reports was right, I saved a lot of money.
If these are the best in wireless - don't buy wireless August 12, 2004 15 out of 19 found this review helpful
I read so many great reviews about this product that I overcame my earlier fears about wireless headphones (low quality, interferance) and made the purchase. Now I have got to assume that all of the people giving these headphones 4 or 5 stars must have tried lesser wireless headphones before these ones.
My first unit did not work. I only had sound in the right earphone. Not too surprising when you consider how breakable these things are - I am talking cheap brittle plastic all over. I'm told that companies have to charge more and skimp on quality materials because of the extra cost of the technology that goes into the wireless models - but I still expected something more sturdy for the price/brand name.
I sent back that unit and received another one promptly from Amazon. This one worked, and occasionally had 'decent' sound including bass(anyone recieving sound without bass should consider that maybe it's either their other equipment or maybe there is something wrong with their unit) but what I have found is that in my small one bedroom apartment, I get a LOT of interference from two things: The AC and the fridge. I couldn't believe it! They are both in separate rooms but I can be sitting within 6 inches of the transmitter and still hear a VERY loud buzz from my AC.
I tried roasting with the AC off. Sound quality was then decent again... till the refrigerator kicked in, then it was all buzz. the buzz was louder than the music I was listening to or the TV sound. if I turned up the volume, the volume of the buzzing went up as well.
I am very disapointed in this purchase. If anyone out there is considering buying wireless for the convenience, but gets annoyed when the sound quality is decent at best and degrades frequently to a level that's just not worth listening to - then don't do it. unplug your head phones and piss off the neighbors - you'll be better off.
2 stars for sounding good a small part of the time.
Good. July 2, 2004 30 out of 31 found this review helpful
When I first researched this product, I was impressed by the positive reviews. There were, of course, a few negative reviews which focused on interfearance, etc. I decided to take a chance and buy this product. Overall? I'm satisfied. The sound quality is excellent. Top knotch. I've placed the base in my basement, next to two CRT monitors and a whole lot of transformers, and I recieve little to no interfearance. If I walk around upstairs, they will occationally pop or crackle, but never for long. My only real complaint is that they seem to get suddenly softer for a few seconds, and then increase in volume. I'm sure it's not the signal strength, because it happens even when my head is perfectly still sitting next to the trasnmitter. But i'm now noticing it less and less. Bottom line, if you're looking for a great pair of wireless headphones, and are willing to accept the fact that "wireless" will never work perfectly, by all means, buy this product. Dont buy this product expecting them to behave as though they have an invisible wire of infinite length connecting them to your stereo.

These are the wireless headphones to buy. If you buy something else you will be sorry. I've tried them all. I orginally bought the lower Sennheiser model I think, the RS-65. They worked alright, with a little noise, but the earcup broke and dangled after six months or so. Then I went on a wireless phone Odyssey and tried every kind out there except the Sennheisers and it was all static. I even tried the only 2.4 Ghz phones out there and there's a reason they're the only one. (The sound is fine as long as you're in the same room and don't run the microwave ouch!) So buy this one and be very careful with the earcups. Mine haven't broken again so far, I think the construction is possibly a little better than the cheaper model. But if they break after a year, at least you'll have had a year of enjoyment instead of a year of aggravation!
WOW!!! BEST PURCHASE I HAVE EVER MADE!!!! April 26, 2004 5 out of 26 found this review helpful
I just bought this thing from Amazon and all I can say is WOW!!!! This is probably the best purchase I have ever made. This thing is everything I ever expected and more!! It's very easy to use as well! I have bought other brands before, and this one just blows everything else out of the water! I have to say, everyone out there who is thinking of buying this, stop thinking. I bought it and I am extremely happy with it the moment I powered this thing on. YOU ABSOLUTELY POSITIVELY CANNOT GO WRONG WITH THIS PURCHASE! I GUARANTEE IT!!!
