4 out of 5 stars Sennheiser MX500 Lightweight In-Ear Headphones (Blue)   February 11, 2008
This low cost headset gives you the sound quality of 100.00 headset. This is my ssecond one. I will purchase another MX500 instead of a more expensive one!! Sennheiser MX500 Lightweight In-Ear Headphones (Blue)

4 out of 5 stars The volume control is great   October 3, 2007
The sound quality is great (much better than the regular iPod earphones) and the price is not that high. Plus, the external volume control is great. I amply recommend these.

1 out of 5 stars Uncomfortable earbuds - not recommended   September 22, 2007

I bougth this earphones few days ago, after reading a lot of opinions, the use is for mp3 listening with my Ipod, they are very uncomfortable, the foam pads are terrible and to obtain the best sound possible you have to insert the earphone inside the tunnel of your ear (insert the tip of the earphone first) this produces a lot of pain and the earbud finally is expelled by the ear...if you wear it in the normal position, the sound is poor, i have a pair of $9.00 SONY who plays better than this.

5 out of 5 stars Great product.   September 21, 2007
Sound great, very comfortable and good price. Have held up very well over in and out of my pocket and briefcase. Recommended.

3 out of 5 stars Volume control problems   September 18, 2007
I agree that these sound better than the stock iPod headphones, with a fuller sound. However, almost from day one, the volume adjustment gave me problems. Perhaps it's because I used them to run with in extreme conditions of temperature and humidity, but the control itself got messed up, so I was generally fooling with it to make sure I had a clean connection. Sort of annoying. It would cut out the highs, or a channel, or weirdly distort the music. It took me a little while to figure out what was happening. Usually sliding the control up and down vigrously, then pressing down on it, fixed the problem, but not always. The volume control produced an intermittent sound-quality problem. I couldn't understand why the control is necessary in the first place -- whatever you may plug it into has a volume control. Besides that it worked great for years. I'm switching to the MX400, no volume control.

By the way, don't do what I did and attempt to cut out the control by snipping the wires and trying to reconnect them. There are four wires total, each comprised of hair-fine individually insulated strands twisted together. Reconnection isn't going to happen.
