Boom box goes bust May 9, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I teach adult school and play music CDs in class every day, so when my 5-year-old Sony boom box stopped working, I went online looking for a replacement that would have decent tone and would be reliable. I'd owned a great JVC radio and casette player years ago, so I decided on the JVC RC-EZ35 mostly because it was the same brand. Bad idea. It worked well at first, but within a week, after an hour or so of play, I'd put in a CD and the display would read "no disc." I later learned from a colleague that the small, inexpensive CD players, though not long on sound, may be better mechanically. Now I'm using a cheap Chinese knockoff provided by my school district, and have my students complained about the sound quality? Of course not!
A good buy May 2, 2008 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
JVC RC-EZ35 Portable Boombox with CD Player, Cassette Deck, and AM/FM Tuner The product works great. It took a little getting used to because everything worked backwards from my previous unit. The sound is great. The buttons and dials make it easy to operate. It's easy to carry from room to room. I'd recommend this product. A good buy for the money.
Sorry to have say it... March 11, 2008 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
Sorry to have to say it, but we had to send two units back. In both cases, after about an hour of use, it started having trouble reading CDs (these are new CDs we bought for our newborn). This was the last thing we expected from JVC. Perhaps it was a "bad batch". To Amazon's credit, they were extremely accommodating and apologetic in accepting the returns.

All I can say is this is another satisfying purchase from JVC -- the other was years ago w/ a tape player.
Bad luck item for me September 26, 2006 10 out of 13 found this review helpful
This is an exchange item. The first one had scrapes and marks on the handle and it ate my cassette tape. I exchanged it for the exact same one hoping I got a lemon on the first one. This one now has a bent FM antenna. Will return it and get a refund as I'm tired of defective junk and production people of JVC that aren't careful in the manufacturing arena. If I hadn't had these defects, the boom box would have been perfect because it had all the features that I wanted.
