Poor Quality October 15, 2008 My Coby CX90 is in the trash. Its quality was very poor. The screen would only display part of the information (e.g. the 7 was not visable when the radio was tuned to 780 AM) and the ear plugs separated from their wires within 3 weeks. The radio hissed and became un-hearable (even with good earplugs). Finally, it used batteries very quickly. Not recommended.
Not Happy September 28, 2008 The only thing this radio has going is that it looks good. Other than that it is not much better than a crystal radio. It does not tune to all stations (ex. you can't tune to 99.3 , its not there). The clock can't be adjusted . The ear pods fell apart the first day. To make thing worse I called the Amazon hot line within the first hour after receiving my shipment . I explained all the above ( the person I talked with didn't understand English . She agreeded with everything I said but when I ask her to repeat it she could not. I ask for a replacement , she said OK . I haven't received a replacement or a call and it has been over a month . I purchased a cheap radio and Amazon hired cheap help.
Best Sound September 24, 2008 This little Coby am-fm radio has the best sound and is great for the money. I would reccomend it to anyone that wants a small radio with good sound.
OK - maybe September 16, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is a cute little FM radio that has a digital readout. The sensitivity is so-so, but the audio quality is not too bad. For some reason it attempts to tune in stations that don't exist. FM radio frequencies do not use the even numbered decimal units - there is no such thing as 98.6, for example. Coby will actually tune this frequency in - not good. Storage and recall of desired channels is a little bit of a hassle, I still haven't mastered it yet. But then, the price is good. It works - it sounds OK - it's cheap - it's got it all. Do not buy Amazon's recommended optional ear-buds as a package deal - it's not. The radio and the optional earbuds come from different stores and you pay shipping on 2 seperate items - not good.
I don't trust any of these digital radios September 15, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This radio, like probably almost all the other digital radios I've tried,
has very poor reception. I also hate, HATE the digital volume. A great
radio would be something like the Sony walkman radio with a signal
booster switch, an analog rotary volume switch, but a digital readout
and presets. And for under $40. Is there any such radio out there? I'd
be interested in it. This radio is as "good" as any of the other more
expensive brands I've seen that do the exact same thing in a different
package. If you just want a radio and you live in downtown Any-ville
close to all your favorite stations, you might like this radio.
