very good value May 12, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I ordered two of the wr-100C radios and received them 2 days ago. Within 18 hours of setting the radio with the s.a.m.e. codes the radios went off 5 times, we had a severe thunderstorm watch and a tornado watch. I didn't have to wait for a weekly test to see if it was working! The installation for the codes was easy from the website. I would definitely recommend this radio to others.

I don't know if I got a bad one, but it can't receive the weather radio signal without an external antenna, and I live in the middle of a large city. It is a disappointment.
Great Weather Radio May 2, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I live and work in Texas and keeping up with the weather is crucial. This is a great radio and easy to use. The S.A.M.E. is ideal for getting alerts pertinent to the area you live or work. I purchased 1 of these radios for personal use, then purchased 5 more for the business and managers . Very pleased with product!!
I WAS SURROUNDED BY TORNADOES & IT DID NOTHING! April 11, 2008 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
Midland WR-100C Weather / All Hazards / Civil Emergency Alert Monitor with S.A.M.E.
I live in Oklahoma in the famed "Tornado Alley". I bought this thing knowing huge storms were coming. We programmed it, left it on at full volume and as the TV Meteorologists told us there were tornadoes all around us, as baseball sized hail fell from the sky, this worthless piece of plastic dog-doo didn't make a single sound. It NEVER made a single sound all night long and I DO mean all night long as storms raged around us. I took it back to Wal-Mart this morning and got my money back. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS!!! This company and their false claims regarding this product should be investigated.
