Great product, I just bought a second one June 4, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I previously bought the iH5BR and was very happy with it. I just bought this new version for a 2nd bedroom and I really like the improvements to the display, you can now use all alarm options with Alarm 1 & 2, previously you couldn't. The sound is great for a clock alarm clock it's size. I have had no issues with AM or FM reception. Highly recommend it.
Plenty loud, but doesnt get quiet enough June 3, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I am guessing i'm not the only one that likes to fall asleep to music or radio as much as i like to listen to it in the day. However the quietest volume setting is equivalent to a person talking in the room, with a bassy resonance. I'm keeping it tho, I'll probably place it in the den or kitchen and search for something that i can enjoy all 3 reasons a clock radio is good: wake to, listen to *and* fall asleep to.
Not so happy witht he iH9 May 25, 2008 4 out of 6 found this review helpful
I just purchased the iH9 a few weeks ago and have been trying to wake to the ipod or playlist... not happening!! It always defaults to the buzzer (UGGH!) I called the customer care line and they said to update my software (I did many times over). I even reset the my ipod nano a few times before docking and setting the alarm. I exchanged it for another and still the same thing! BOO HOO. Otherwise the iH9 is really nice and I have no complaints. I really bought it for the alarm features so if that is what you are looking for choose another one. The buzzer makes you almost wet your bed (YUCK!!). Happy Shopping
Really good option for an iPod alarm clock May 9, 2008 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I wanted an option to wake to music, so an iPod alarm was a perfect fit. My son owns the Altec Lansing inMotion iPod alarm clock but when I saw the iHome in an Apple store I decided to give it a try. I have been more than happy with my decision.
I know that some complain about the sound quality but I find it to be just fine. Admittedly I'm not an audiophile, but with slight adjustments to the bass and turning on the 3D option the output sounds normal to everyone in my household. The more important factor to me is how easy it is to use and adjust. Compared to the inMotion alarm clock, it's a lot more user friendly. The click-wheel is fantastic for ease of adjustment and the display has large icons and numbers that let you know without a doubt what things are set at. With the inMotion, on more than one occasion my son's alarm hasn't functioned as he thought it would because he hadn't set it properly.
Other pros are that you can adjust the brightness of the display to eight different levels, you can set the length of snooze from 1-29 minutes, you can create an "iHome" playlist on your iPod and the alarm clock will randomly select from it each morning, and the alarm can be set to go off every day, only weekdays, or only weekends.
Great little clock radio May 8, 2008 7 out of 8 found this review helpful
The best thing I like about this product is its ease of use. It arrives with the clock already set, all you have to do is set your time zone (it came set for EST). Then, to set it to DST there is a little switch at the back that does that right away, no time changing required! Not that changing the time or the alarms is difficult. But probably the best feature of all is the 5-day alarm mode - the alarm comes on only Monday through Friday, no more being woken up early on Saturday morning because you forgot to turn off the alarm on Friday! Oh, and it sounds good, too.
