An AIWA fan... January 31, 2000 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
Bought this portable CD player several weeks back and been using it daily ever since. It was pretty easy to set up (for someone who can't seem to program the VCR) after I briefly looked at the manual and simple to use even in the car, driving. The 20-sec ESP is satisfactory, although it seems to lose bits and pieces of the song when I go over bumpy roads. (Had to check if the ESP was on couple of times and it was on.) The "resume" feature is really handy, starting off where I left off. But it seems to remember that last CD's place when I pop in a new CD. Which can be kind of annoying because I have to turn it off and on again. But the sound quality is excellent and it never skips. The backlit LCD feature has helped me a lot in the dark, too. This Aiwa XP-779 Portable CD Player has taken enough abuse from me but it's still very sturdy and works excellent. A great deal for the price.
High Quality Good Price December 15, 1999 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
It's a great cd player that has good features and is very durable. I would recommend this to anyone who's looking for a nice cd player and doesn't want to spend a fortune. It has good features, doesn't skip, has shock protection. It's a great product.
Not too good player November 24, 1999 22 out of 25 found this review helpful
3* for sound. ESP works great. Sound quality is good, definitely better than 2 Sony(ESP broke) units I had, but AIWA interferes with all kinds of electric equipment. While listening to my music on the train and it was picking up a static noise from the electric engines of a train, same thing happened on the escalator. For me it's a NO!
a bad choice November 17, 1999 18 out of 18 found this review helpful
I bought this cd playerlast December and it's already broken. It broke in June. It's not somthing that I did to it, The main gear inside it just got stripped. I love Aiwa products but this didn't even last for over a half a year!
Excellent, affordable, premium sound quality, I love it! November 2, 1999 20 out of 20 found this review helpful
This Aiwa portable CD player is the best! It makes my car speakers sound better than they really are. For the money, this little CD player is a great value. Aiwa products generate great sound, and I love the features such as "resume" and the extra bass. This player never skips, and was simple to use and install into my car. For those people who wrote about having trouble turning it on, don't listen. All you do is press the play button! I get in my car, turn it on, and press play! Simple, premium sound, sleak design - in one word, AIWA!
