Beware of defective CD player February 14, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I ordered this to use in my son's room, mainly needing the CD player. I used it for a short time when the CD player suddenly stopped working. I returned it and received a new unit. After less than a month, the same thing happened with the replacement. I am in the process of trying to return it and I am moving on to something different in brand and price range. Hopefully the new product will work for more than just a month. Perhaps this is a case of you get what you pay for? Regardless, stay away and buy something that will actually work.
Happy purchase February 9, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
It is a good product for the price for a very hard to find combo item.
don't buy January 29, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I purchased this with some CD's for my infant grandson's sleep time lullabies. Played one track and CD player died. casseste and radio still worked but CD player was reason we purchased so essentially useless. Save your money, buy something else.
wrong cord January 18, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The cord did not fit the product. Had to return product due to this. Was a christmas present so did present a problem.
All the comforts of home (rather than house). January 10, 2008 2 out of 5 found this review helpful
In Yiddish I believe there's a word, "haymisha" (or something like that) which suggests something comfortable, homey (albeit not as in 'one for me and one for my homey') and soothing. This low tech, inexpensive device is all you need for comfortable listening to a CD/audio cassette or am/fm. Lacking mp3 capability and the rather flimsy look of an Ipod, this item with its old fashioned single-pole antenna will make you think of more relaxed and intimate times when you lit some incense (and whatever else of your choice) and just chilled out. Let others burn their own CD's with Roxio or fill their portable devices with as many mpeg files as they like--either legally or illegally--it's their choice. Fortunately, they won't play on this retro device. And the price is so low that if it breaks, you can just buy another one. Audio cassettes may be vestigial to many, but there's something about watching those rollers spin that is soothing to mind and body. I doubt whether when the tekkies are on their death bed, they will say,"I wish I could have completed that final download."
