I bought this boom box to play music in a gym. It is everything that I wanted and needed. The sound is clear and LOUD.

I ordered this because a group that I belong to (The Church Ladies) needed a replacement for their boombox. Well, let me tell you, this one is wonderful! The only thing I can say bad about it is that it's hard to get used to locking the CD door and the Cassette door! If you're thinking about buying one of these - do it - you'll love it.

This boombox (I really hate that word) is incredible! My first christening music was a cassette of Whitesnake...OH MY GOD!!! The bass is thunderous and the voice coils are very clear. (I'm glad I made my recordings with Maxell XLII's because they really sound like CDs.) It's nice to be able to play all my cassettes again, but to make a CDR with 10.5 hrs. of mp3's is insane! I bought this UNIT because all my other portables were dying slowly leaving only the radio functioning. And you know how annoying it is when there is NOTHING that you like on the radio or there's just talking or commercials. A friend of mine has one of the other models in the Kaboom Series and I was impressed. I took a thin foam gasket and sealed around the cd player and cassette doors so that while I'm working on my house the sawdust and drywall dust won't cause a premature death. I don't know what those other reviewers are talking about when they say the unit can't get decent radio reception. I live in one of the 5 boroughs of NYC and I get GREAT reception in my kitchen that is framed with metal studs in the walls and ceiling and that's with the antenna DOWN! Either you guys live in lead houses or you're radioactive! Anyway, no discussion needed....BUY THIS....alright, BOOMBOX !!!

Absolutely outstanding quality of sound(especially sound!!!!! and all the rest, however a little too big and heavy to carry it around. But overall I loved it.
