5 out of 5 stars The big boy toy   May 17, 2007

Holy crap! What an animal this boombox is. Everything works well, the am, fm, cd, preamp inputs, and oh...the SUBS! This thing produces sound that would really impress the neighbors(heh heh heh), but it's not all just thump. This stereo really is just that, a stereo. The sound quality is far superior than the price. I would never hesitate to purchase another one of these boomboxes, except that the design quality is so rugged that I probably could drive over it and still not break it. OK-thats a stretch of truth, but the thing is tough and very impressive. A+

Best boombox out there.I've been blastin it for 10 hours a day five days a week for a year now in a dusty shop and it still sounds as good as the day I bought it ! Sounds as good as any top of the line shelf stereo.I'd say even better. It's great.I love it.If you want to blast anyone elses radio out of the water then buy this.It is too heavy to lug around for a long period of time though. From the car to the beach you'lle be alright.

I cant believe I have just stopped listening to my $800 home stereo. For awhile anyway. The BEST boombox I have ever heard. Well, admittaly its not as good as my home stereo with better seperation, etc, but it does have deeper bass--my home system has no subwoofer. This box has very good tonal qualties, it is lots of fun to listen to. I have placed this in the corner of my living room, and just cant stop turning it on. I am very critical of sound, and cant find a fault with this for what it is. The bass is deep and tight, not in the least muddy, midrage very clear, and very good highs, never scratcy or shrill sounding. It doesnt have a equalizer, but the presets are good. I have mine on clear, and like it just fine. I have only played CD's. Haven't played radio yet--CD's just sound so darn good.
A update---took it to work last nite. Im in a fairly quiet area, abit of noise. The radio and CD were fine, but when playing my mp3 player thru the line in, I was disapointed. Volume was sadly lacking. I had to turn the mp3 player and kaboom all the way up to get it fairly loud, and I could have stood louder still. I guess I cant change my star rating, but I would revise down to 4. Those who want to play a mp3 player loud in a noisy work area may be dissapointed

5 out of 5 stars Most Incredible Boom Box Ever   February 19, 2007

I remember when the Kaboom first came out about ten years ago how amazing they were and how I always wanted one. Only until about 2005 was this a time were I had the money and need for one, haha need. I wanted a nice boom box to bring to concerts to have for camping out and the lot before concerts or football games, stuff like that. I instantly thought of wanting a kaboom and started to call around, no luck. So I looked on Ebay and found some for sale, still selling for the same price as they sold for 10 years ago when they were made. Then I found a couple that said they were MP3 ready, which 10 years ago was not an option of course, so they must be new, right then I knew that they were making them again. I was so excited, so I started calling around again but no one sold them from their stores in the places I called around here. So I looked online and ordered one. When I finally got it I was so excited, then when I plugged it in and placed some Music that would really test the full range of the speakers I was amazed at them!! Normally portable stereos don't have that full sound that normal home stereos have, well this competes with most bookshelf stereos, and the sound is unbeatable compared to any other boom box. It's not even a contest with this radio compared to others. If you are looking for a boom box you have to get the Kaboom, trust me, there is no way to be disappointed. Not only is the bass amazing but so are the other ranges. Some people might think that it's just a stereo for people who like bass, not true. It just all together has amazing full sound. Some people don't understand that for any music if you are going to play loud you need all ranges of music that are handled well by the system. This does it!! I've had endless hours of fun bringing this around, so many people walking by asking "What is that"! "That is awesome!!"
